Need measurement off Northwave .900

Post by gradyh » Monday 31 January 2005, 18:35

Can anyone with .900's please give me the measurement length of the threaded rod on the back spring system that is in the middle of the spring? I need the measurement from the pin to the end of the rod. I think my Nexus rod is shorter than the .900's :(

Sorry, my boots are in the chalet... And I won't be back with the info before 14th February.
Can someone else help gradyh?

Hi GradyH,

I'll try to measure it out tonight. BUT: This is not a fix measurement, as it changes with the forward lean you have set. So I will measure from lower spring plate to upper nut. The screw you see below varies from 0 to ??

10cm fot the above figure.
I do not own a caliper and I am not an engineer like 50% of you are. However the measurement should be quite accurate within 1, at most 2 mm.
Hope that helps.

7.5cm to the middle of the plate(with the plate measuring 3mm) for the distance from the top to the plate that is in the middle of the yellow spring

OK gradyh, I'm back with these 2 pictures: left and right boots (I'm regular). Note that my settings are almost the same for both boots.

My ruler is not placed like you asked on your picture, but you can easily estimate the desired distance: 10.9 cm 8)

Thanks Patrice. It seems the .900 spring system is longer than the spring system on my Northwave Nexus boots. Fortunately for me I've found an easy way to make it longer, so I can get a similar range of motion as yours.
Thanks to everyone that helped out!
Now that I have the Northwave's I can EC backside! It's amazing what a difference boots make!
