Extremecarving Picture Shoot

If I laid myself down, snowboard strapped to my boots, on my side on a steep incline of a snow-covered slope, raised my inner arm way up over my head, and someone took my picture, does that count as an extremecarving photo??

No, in all earnest, I am jealous of all you guys who are able to lay down like that in a turn!!

maybe u should try changing board for a start.... Believe me, I woul never try to dive inside a turn with my f2.... I love my "silber" pfeil, but trust only swoard for extreme...

Absolutely. And you'd be famous for executing turns without rooster tail.

It's a good idea for a start, but don't try shooting videos that way

As for your F2, till last season I rode a Silberpfeil and it is possible to lay it down in case you set an angle that your boots do not stick out from the board.

Well, coming back from a laid turn, and jumping into an other, that's an other question....

Anyway, I have no intention to use my Silver Arrow for laid turns - mainly for the simple reason that I can't do them! I have great fun carving fast on my F2 but that extreme stuff I'm afraid <sniff>, is too late for me to learn...

If I could--I would buy a Swoard, believe me!!!

Yeah, don't be kidding NardaF, it's a piece of cake. Otherwise the videos on this site were shot in Hollywood in a bluebox, so don't feel that bad about it

Age? Most of the guys in this forum are older than you would expect from crazy snowboarders. To be honest, my date of birth is written on a completely rotten papyrus roll lying buried under an antique bronze bath tub some 20 m deep under an etruskian temple or so.

My father started snowboarding at the age of 48 and gave it up at 60 but is currently thinking of trying it again (63). My mother did snowboarding from 45 till 53. They both would do it until today if there weren't the carving skis.
So what?

Yeap! never say too late....if you had seen the poll on our average age u'll see we are well in the mid 30s.... otherwise we would probably be doing tricks in a half pipe... Long Live and Carve Hard! Next year come to Zinal with us!

when i think that a few weeks ago I was telling a (38 years old) friend "I have to ride as much as i can now because i won't do it in 10 or 15 years", well... i might be right (who knows really) but maybe i'am SO wrong...

Celine, are you really in China? Where on earth do they do boarding there? How cool is that?

Of course, living in the American Midwest, I might as well live on the moon when it comes to alpine boarding. Although my Wisconsin ski hill is nice, but you probably could do EC there. Going downhill with a Swoard at Mach 1 would require exacly 2 turns and your down the hill.

I'd LOVE to learn more if there were more opportunities to do so in the U.S.

And where exactly is Zinal???? France? Switzerland? I would actually come over and do it if it's fun!

So I am 53, I must turn in my Virus because I am too old? I didn't snowboard until 45, now I must go quickly to make up for lost time. I think at least 10 more years. You are only as old as you feel, right?
