Getting to Zinal by train, how? details

Post by SerjShakhov » Saturday 22 January 2005, 22:25

Hello!
Please, can somebody give a good advise about getting to Zinal from Geneve' airport by train?
At site it's written: "From Geneve' airport take a train to Sierre and then Post Bus to Zinal, change at Vissoie".

But I still have questions:
1) At which "Sierre" must I get off the train and get the bus? Because SBB.CH provides a huge list of staions, called "SIERRE". For example, Sierre/Siders, Sierre/Glarey, Sierre/Placette and so on...
2) Which type of train it is better to choose: IR, R?
3) And the last one - where better put a snowboard rig in the train? I'm affraid, it will be a little bit difficult to place it in compartment :)

Thank you in advance.

Hello

1) Sierre Siders, anyway you'll recognise the main station!
2) IR: inter-region (quicker)
3) You can (and must) leave it between two wagons, there are special places for ski.
