Cant or lift?
I'd like to start riding flat like many people here suggests. I have TD2 bindings and I have 3 deg disks. I'm going to buy 0deg disks but before that my questions is that how should I set my bindings in order to have best set up for EC style?
For the people who are dont familiar with TD2, there is possibility to adjust inclined disk so that I have 3 deg cant and 0 deg lift or 0 deg cant and 3 deg lift and anything between these.
so If we assume that flat is optimal, which one cant or lift is more distrous to right alignment

Lift does not do a lot... the only thing it does is bending your rear knee (if you are planning using lift at your rear binding). The advantage of lift is that you have more edge pressure on your backside when you stand more frontal (slalom style). At the WorldCup at Landgraaf i noticed that most of them used canting and lift.
The use of canting is very personal. Do you stand wide or narrow, do you allow side deflection of your boot in basic snowboard posture?

I use 49cm stance. I know that these are personal things but many people seem to share opinion that in EC flat is best.
I've also seen some details about disadvantages of cant and lift.
My first guess was that I put 3 deg lift (for both legs) and no cant. I just want to hear if somebody has more knowledge about this.

Hi Ilmari.
I don't use any lift and cant, so maybe there are more experienced users in this field. But in geberal I would recomment to apply lift/cant disk in a way that the angle faces the middle of the board (longitudinally). This means: The highes point of the disk should face exactly the nose (or the tail), the lowest point of it the part between the bindings. So as your legs are spread along the longitudinal axis of your board, your cant/lift should do so, too.

My experience: until last season I had a huge lift and also a canting at the back. I needed them due to my narrow Silberpfeil
Based on the knowledge I earned here I removed both. Now that I ride a wider board there is no need for them.
The surprising point is that I got used to the new position rather fast and indeed it is better for laid turns on both sides.

i'd say that u should try to change it when ur riding, and use the settings u feel most comfortable. thats what i did. just the easiest way XD

When you drop out cant/lift, compensate that with small change in stance width, then it does not feel so bad. If i understand correctly, Swoard is designed to be ridden as flat and also all other board work quite well same way. Only if you are running with ultra long board (for me 195+) then extended stance length will help controlling board and then using toe and heel lift will allow you to extend stance.
Well, one possibility is to buy the extra 0 degree rings for your TD2s from Bomberline. They are not that expensive and shipment is pretty fast, as you probably know. Then you have solved your problem. As you have noticed from the advices and the recommendations in the techniques section, flat seems to work best for EC, so buy the extra rings.
