The resort generally opens at the beginning of December. The best slopes for EC have snowguns. So don't worry about snow.
And is there space to carve or are slopes filled with skiers?
It's known that italian resort are more crowded for Christmas and New Year, but what do you call "first week of January' ?
If it's the week from 3 to 10 Jan, it will be empty, like usual !

its maybe the best carving resort in italia, and one of top 5 in europe anyway..
- very steep slopes
- perfect grooming
- very long slopes
- lots of snow
- nice people
- nice food
- not too expensive compare to switzerland or some parts of France
- incredible powder when there is powder ( which can be in huge quantities)

its really a place where our italian crew should organize a big meeting each year :) ( its not too late hurry guys !!)

Pre-Zinal session, mid January 2009 : 2:50 to 4:00 slope #3 - 4:00 to 4:28 slope #25 - 5:16 to end on slope 33, except 6:50 to 7:22 on slope 17.
Post-Zinal session, mid March 2009 : 0:00 to 2:00 on slope #3 - 2:00 to end on slope #35

It's Giacomo. A very good rider.

You can also see him @3:47
See how the board is chattering. He wasn't with his Swoard this day. He used a Pureboarding #2, and it's clearly visible how the nose can't follow a rounded turn ...

Grazie Arnaud......

Any recommendation where to stay in LaThuile
http://www.atahotels.it/struttura.asp?i ... bel&ln=eng just in front of the chairlifts and cablecar.
There is also some small hotels like Trift : Hotel Rolland, Hotel Martinet, Hotel Entreves. See accomodation on la Thuile website : http://www.lathuile.it/home.asp?l=3

From Saturday to Saturday in most case

Have also a look to the good slopes here : http://carvingspot.free.fr/la-thuile/la ... pistes.htm

Have a look to hotel Martinet or Hotel Rolland, more similar to Trift hotel

I like lux but not willing to pay silly prices of it
with thos eprices i can have real lux in Niseko, with real powder challenge.
But thanks to link for other hotels.
I'm still wondering of dates due some hotels dont list prices till 9.1, so does that mean that untill 9.1 there is crowded sklopes or just crowded hotels?
