Artificial demand?
Hi.
I see a genuine interest for the recommended boots. I was thinking, if it is possible for us to create some kind of an artificial demand for those boots. I mean by calling, emailing northwave, asking local dealerships, kicking blue-tomato?
I think it will not happen immidiatly, but might happen if we persist.
What do You think?
Sincerely,
Evgeny.

Hi Evgeny,
I think, You are perfectly right. We should start asking all online-shops for these boots, especially those who are selling NW S***boots or the DeeLuxe. And I will recommend everyone of my friends to ask every time they are in snowboard-shops.
Relying on the Virus boots is not enough, I think, so we should try to find other resources. And for sure Northwave would be one (maybe an option would be to buy the tools and the rights from them and start having them built ourselves or to make them build a series on demand)

Northwave .900
The problem of the .900 is that they didn't think at the time of the importance of having a step in system compatibility. it means that a lot of shop prefered other boots, so they could provide their customers with models that could do both (stepin and normal)...
We have had contacts with Northwave, and the problem is they are asking for more than 2000 pairs to relaunch the production...And molds would have to be modified in order to fit in a step in system, which can be VERY expensive! I am not sure there is a market for 2000 paris of normal non-stepin models in the short term, so making them would be a very big investment for a long term period!!

Maybe...
Hi Nils,
I know about this problem. And I think, asking them to relaunch the .900 would be much too easy. But I am sure, that they do not sell 2000 pairs or more of any of ther S...boots. And Also for sure others did not sell such a high number of Hardboots with some models.
I rather think, if they would make those boots for you, they want to earn money, and not only little. Also I think, there are others as the makers of the shell for example, who have to earn their money, too. But as there are existing molds, I can't believe, that a manufacturer does need 2000 pairs as a break even! I think they were just not interested : (. This is why I think, asking the shops might help. If they see, that there is a growing market, they might become interested again...
