Nightmare legs
My first ECS seems doomed. Rode all day Thursday and now have shin bang so bad I can't wear my hard boots. Had to use my soft boot set up today. I will try again but I doubt I will be back in my hards, so I have resigned myself to taking photo's of all you guys. So if you see someone dressed in black with silver helmet and camera, carve past me like you mean it. I am no proffesional but i will try my best. Here are 3 from today the quality is not great as I have had to rehash them to fit the forum. When I get sorted I will upload the best selection to web.

Willow, what a sad situation!!! Which boots you are using?
Before i start HB i`ve heard many sad stories about shin bang and even seen one pesonally when skier told me that he got wrong boots and show...this was really awful... I never experienced such a problem, that makes me think that i never ride so agressively or i did everything right...but i do not know exactly...

shin bang
Willow,
it is likely you have a sharp edge shin bone
Go to a snow / ski shop, ask them if they have spare neoprene, or any soft rubber material about 4-6 mm thick, (neoprene stuff for cheap that you can cut.)
Cut two strips for each boot, glue them inside the boot vertically alongside the shin, around the area that hurts: but do not make them touch ( leave a gap about 5mm between each strip: it will give enough space for the shin bone to move in the boot without touching it: pressure will be applied on the neoprene that is then compress.
1. use 5mm neoprene like in wetsuits
2. glue it with neoprene glue
in my previous boots, my shin where just sore after 3 hours, but with that system, the shin could hold good for weeks of use!

temporary?
it was not a temporary solution: it is a solution that works perfectly and solves shin pain issues...

Thanks
Thanks Nils, i have tried your method but to no avail and you are quite correct I do have sharp shin bones. I think I need to try new boots. I rode all day today with strapping, neoprene strips and pain killers it still hurt(see picture) but it was worth it. Zinal rocks.

Perhaps you should try SHINTRONICs. They work well for me. Check manufacturer website: http://www.manoove.com/
I guess they sell them very well because they set crazy price this year and Nils's idea about do it yourself neopren is much more cost effective.
