Which quiver to bring to ECS09
What boards are you all bringing? I would like to bring a few but I am limited by weight restrictions from traveling by air. I am definately bringing my SG full race 63 and my soft boot set up for any powder dumps, but I am tempted to bring some of my antiques as the poor things have not seen snow for many years. I am trying to decide wether to bring my PJ7( first model black base) or a rare Morrow Rocket, or a Liquid Race 169. They were all brilliant boards in their day. If anyone would like to try any of them let me know and it will help me decide which relic to bring. Of course I am looking forward to try out the Sword and maybe a few others (hint, hint Pokkis). Also this has been the slowest January of my life
.

I would say that take look for forecast data day before you leave to Zinal.
That should tell you if you need/want to take soft stuff there.
Anyway for me it is max 2 boards when flying, otherwise it will be extra visit to cash
Think also how many days you will be there, so that defines also that how many boards you really need there. Some time will go just going around and finding slopes best for you plus then time to test Swoard and possible other stuff too
so how much time you will have to ride with your other boards. Note also that some times will go to sitting in line waiting your turn to ride during ECS
I have always manged with max 2 carving boards in Zinal during ECS. But yes, i love to have full collection with me alwways everywhere.

Re: Which quiver to bring to ECS09
We got 5 sunny Extremecarving Sessions with great snow till now...
We will have to pay one day or another for this luck.
So maybe this year we could get 50 cm of fresh snow for the meeting... Don't hesitate to bring your freeriding stuff.

Are also necessary poles and short skis, or snowshoes, to go up?nils wrote:Zinal is one of the best freeride spot in europe as well, so i'd suggest bring a powder board and your fav carving tool instead of many carving tools...

Snow forecast for this week is (soo ?) good.

It's seems the slopes will be perfect (not brown) but I think a little bit smooth...
I'm waiting 3 days before leaving, but I think this year I will take my swallow tail board

crazy site, this snow-forcast!
I'had just watched some ski-areas on snow-forcast I know well.
I was amoused how they can increase the high of upper station about a plus of 22% and increase vertival drop about a plus of 25% !
On an other resort they find an additional lift to the 2 existing lifts and the vertical descent increase like magic, a view 100 meters! Most crazy thing I found on snowreport of snow-forcast for the same resort: They blowed up the 2 existing lifts not up to 3 lifts, no - just up to 13 lifts (Lifts open: 13)! With one single stroke they build 11 new lifts there!
As I wrote this, sun was shining there, but automatic snowforcast says me there should be dark clouds with heavy snowfall.
Well to be accurate (perhaps snow-forcast-people are on work with laptops on the beach of Nassau, or Paradise Island (Bahamas)), can be sometimes hard. Perhaps the british makers of snow-forcast should book some days on snow!

.... I will take my swallow tail board .... Magistral is already packed ....
Could be a good idea, but don't forget to think to the risk of avalanches!
The avalanche situation is treacherous and subject to significant local variations. Avalanche prone locations are more prevalent in the western regions than in the eastern regions.
But anyway, in my opinion, it's more fun to present/ride swallows like on first picture, then store it at home/ shop like on second picture! (first picture was token in Switzerland Yesterday Sunday on about 1300 m over seelevel, on the bright, all-the-day sunny side of a mountain, after a seamless and smooth ride up to this roof. / second picture comes from a search engine.)
