PHIOKKA BINDINGS

Post by SITO » Friday 21 November 2003, 11:28

hi all
in the forum of ec in french there was a post about bindings phiokka f2....
I don' t understand french 8O

phiokka makes a good and strong bindings how for example bomber
well ,here we have two different types of manufacturer bindings

the question aren't what of this bindings are better.

well ,both are good , but phiokka offer two tipes of bindings with the same quality.one flat and the other whith disk how bomber.

isabelle blanch won the olympic games wiht phiokka, but his bindings
was the model flat (whithout disk)

I see the video of olympic games and the most of racer had flat bindings.

my question is:
bettwen two different types of bindings whith the same qualities how for example phiokka or bomber(durability ,adjustment ,strong.....)

what are better, bindings whith disk or bindongs flat?

Phiokka bindings

Post by nils » Friday 21 November 2003, 13:10

Hello Sito,

We have just received our demo Phiokka (PH-1) so are not able to say now if it is good or bad ( they look very good :).
The PH-1 is the model on a disc that is 15cm in diam, with a 14cm contact zone to the board. The bomber disc on the TD1 is much smaller.

What you try to look for is a binding that has a small "footprint" in order to allow the board to bend nicely without flat areas...

We will write more about the PH1 after we test it.

Nils,

Have you guys already published the PH1 test on the Forum? Just could not find it, but would be interested.

Cheers,

István

Basically the PH-1 are excellent bindings, but he says they are not dampened enough to his tastes and prefers the ride on his TD2... he says they must be great to win a GS race, but for EC a bit too stiff!

He will review them soon!

I personnaly think the PH-1 are a bit expensive for what they are, in terms of craftmanship/design compare to the TD2 or the Cateks > both look better and are cheaper ( of course depends on where u find the PH-1, but here in certain shops they are as much as 300 euros)
