Livigno next week..

Post by Mariusz.Zamojski » Friday 19 March 2004, 11:42

Hi

As of sunday, 21 March I'll be carving in Livigno for 6 days (I am going to spend most of the time on the famous slope nr 19 :) ). If any hardbooters be there we can meet. I'll be riding blue F2 Speedster GTS 166....

Greetings
Mariusz

Hi Mariusz!

I just got back from Livigno, you'll have great snow-conditions. Fortunately can not be there this time.

Do not know which is #19, but there is a nice part on the Trepalle slope (bottom), an other on the Mottolino (last part, wide, groomed and steep) but my favorite is the black slope that goes down from the 2nd peek beside Mottolino, on the to pit has a bar with loud music (usually DJ or a saxophone player). Very steep, very groomed and very icy, so perfect. It has 3 stages, big fun to do it in one ride.

Have fun!

Kindest,

István

ps.: Isn't GTS 166 too soft for you? Once I had one and found it too soft. (I was over 95 kg)

Jo napot Istvan.

"Magyar, Lengyel jó két barat, egyutt harcal és isszaborat". :-)

I've just come back from Livigno. Snow conditions weren't perfect - there were many snow falls, but there were also a 2 days of perfect snow and sun.

My weight is 80kg, so I don't feel GTS's softness as you do.

Anyway the guy on the Silberpfeil told me that he looked at me from the lift and noticed that my board is too soft and I agreed with him. I didn't noticed that on Polish slopes where I was running rather slower than on Livigno's highways. I have to consider buying a new board for the new season. Maybe Swoard... :)

Slope nr 19 is named "Fontanne Vetta" and it is on the other side than Mottolino is. It was mentioned a few times on that forum and pictures were attached.

Greetings
Mariusz

Hey Mariusz,

Yes indeed, Pols and Hungarians are friends. We have a lot of common in our history.

I was working in Bruxelles for a couple of months, together with some Polish guys, we always had parties together, and everyone of them knew the saying: "Magyar, Lengyel két jóbarát, együtt harcol és issza borát". Thinking back to those days we were not drinking wine, but Belgian beer and Zubrovka.

I have also learnt some Polish from them, but you can imagine what they usually taught me.... :-)

Well, this time Livigno wasn't too kind with us, between March 6-13 we also only had 2 sunny days.

So, try a longer and stiffer board and you'll be surprised about the edge grip.

Maybe we can go carving sometime together, I'm planning to go to Sölden sometime, but I want to buy a new board before that, as I was convinced that my Silberpfeil is too narrow for EC.

Cheers,

István

ps.: By the way Livigno: I have only realized yesterday, watching the 'Italian Job' on DVD that one scene was filmed in Livigno, on the lake side entering Livigno after coming out from the tunnel.
