We recommend F2 race titanium bindings due to their good quality/price and they are low on the boards and are strong enough ( no intec). Patrice and Jacques now use them almost 100% of the time
TD2's are also good but a bit high and stiff ( i'm using them), will try TD3 now.
Jacques tried the Catek and found it way too stiff, but they are strong also.

the rest is too weak ( break too fast).

Good Question! Yesterday I testet on slope 6 different bindings (alltime same board on same 3 slopes / bindings out of reinforced plastics / aluminium / carbone - each as step-in- / non step-in-system) (I'll continue testing, that was on a 19 cm board, extrahard/icy pretentious slopes)

First impressions: as lower the profile (*), as more confidential feedback from slope and less power for carving is required.

(*) F2 race titanium bindings is a high profile binding (33 mm), others comes with 22-23 mm!

I was not so confidence to the F2 race titanium (high and thin sledge-base of plates = 50 mm (20 mm smaler then boot sole), compared to other products comming with up to 90 mm. Nils, please tell me, is the front-trigger/lever of actual F2 race titanium still now build with soft plastic (lever bends a little when I open it) or are they now out of reinforced plastics? Same question for ESD-Damper right under sledge. Step-In's ESD-damper are way more rigid.

Add.
For all people watching TV, now ski-Worldcup-GS runs in Adelboden (one of most difficult run for GS on the world). Watch out last hill bevor finish line!
The lower Part was just a good place to do/learn my first steps on snowboards Years ago. (sure, it was on a famous snowboard school SSBS - what else! Because I wanted to learn how to ride on a snowboard, not just to try out, how it is to stay-at-a-snowboard!)

This GS-track and of course last hill is very nice and pretentious to carve. It's now prepared to extremly hard/icy. Carvers staying there now in Adelboden should enjoy runs at Monday and later.
Gliding on Snowboards,
like Pogo, Kessler, Virus, Hot, Nidecker and others,
from 151 up to 183 cm and 14 to 27.4 cm width,
covering any kind of shapes with
any kind of boots and bindings.

No idea about the leveler on the toe bail of F2... but they never break.. its the bails that break...always keep a spare in the pocket !

Interesting that it's the bails that break for EC. Apparently on the racing scene, it's the plate (where the plate get screwed into the board) that breaks.

Where can I find spare parts for F2 race bails? Blue tomato don't seem to sell them...

And how about toe/heel blocks? Are they strong? Did anyone break one?

And what do you think about this binding?
It seems low on the board, strong and simple....but probably a little heavy and too stiff?

This season, I broke 3 heel bails on two pairs of F2 Race Titanium (models 2006 and 2008). :-(

I try to place the new bails on the front foot and the old bails on rear foot for safety reasons. Indeed when I break a binding and have to ride with one foot, I prefer that it's the front foot. 8O

Grrr, on November I even broke on the steepest part of the steepest slope in my favorite resort. I could not believe that it happened at this precise place. But I survived. ;-)

I'm dreaming about bindings with the performances I want and no breaking.

new model F2 RaceTi '09 has
"Extremely sturdy due to extra thick 5,9 mm stainless bails"

I think it will be better.

Is it possible to bring anybody for ECS same bails for us?

Patrice, where are you buy it?

I have an Elfgen Binding that looks nearly the same. (maybe OEM bei Spirit). I like the Elfgen Binding, except for the comfort - for which I prefer Burton Race Plates / Ibex. Just exchange the screws holding down the heel and toeblock every few years, can't think of anything else on the Spirit binders that could break while using (well o.k. the levers could break, but never happened to me).

Yes, 5.9 mm instead of 5,4 mm.

As someone said on the French Forum: "thicker is not necessarily stronger"!

Moreover the bindings will be stiffer. :-(

Note that we will sell some 2009 models at the next ECS: see here (3 pairs in size M, and 3 pairs in size L).

Patrice, flex does not need to come from bails only, it can come also from binding it self. That would be better due then you dont have to be afraid of breaking bails.
