Hi all,
First of all fantastic forum, found out about it today. Reason why I am writing is because I cant really find the right settings for the equipment I have at hand.
Was riding competitions years ago, but now only manage to go carving once a year. I am quite a lightweight (~70kgs/155pounds), and i feel i am not that fit anymore.
However I have a Silberpfeil 168 with Titanium Race Bindings, right now at 62°/50° and a stance of 48.
The problem I have is my lower front leg hurts on backside turns or straights while using the backside edge, i feel my weight is rather backwards and i have problems of actually getting myself over the boots correctly.
I tried to move the bindings a bit, but thought i might get some useful advice from you guys. Worth getting a Shintronic, or raising the rear binding?

50 might not be enough. Try 51 and 52 too.
Are you using cantings or heellifts/toelifts? Remove them.
You don´t use that? Try it with those.
Have you tried a setback?
Maybe all that will not solve the problem with your leg,
but it´s the first step.
There is one thing, I think about: rebel wrote, that he was riding competitions.
Hmm - as far as I know, those people often use the Kackstuhlhaltung (could someone translate?) for backside turns.
Maybe the counterrotation technique will solve the problem?

Many thanks for your replies. Indeed I use the Kackstuhlhaltung haha, it has been hammered into my head. You mean I should switch back to the old skool trick of turning the upper body in the direction of movement?
I didnt have any heellifts, I just put them in, also I changed to Istvan's 63/57 and a 51 stance. Going up to the slopes in 10mins and will report tonight.
What is the deal with the Deeluxe 700 and walking mode, are people seriously carving with it activated or what is your view? In walking mode I feel like carving with soft boots.

Don't ride in walk mode. There are several writings on the net reporting boot damage and foot injury due to riding in walk mode. It was just not designed for riding. I gues that's why it is called WALK and not RIDE mode.....
Try a spring system if you don't like the locked feeling. BTS from Bomber works fine.
Hope the new settings will help, if not, play around more. There is no 'one golden setting for all'. There are some basic rules and it is worth starting with those as most proably your biomechanics are not that different from others'. Still, if you have to brake those basic rules, just brake them as long as your ride gets better with the new setup. So just keep on playing around with settings.

Don't get cheated by the fact that the poll shows that there are several people riding in walk mode and did not get injured. Read the reports of the ones injured.....
I think also Francesco (Siber) here blew up a boot a few years ago in Zinal and screwed up his foot, but I do not remember if this was due to riding in walk mode.

IF You have cramp in the calf riding backside, just ride more sportive with bendet knees. Or adjust boot mechanism of Your front boot one or two position more verical (to position 4 or 5).

Thanks for all the replies. I think the angle did the trick, I am still working on the stance and will increase it to 52 tomorrow and then let you know.
What worked wonders was to ride in freeride mode (knob turned 90° to the left) on the front leg and fully in ride mode backsides.
I will adjust the front boot ride mode now in order to get the same angle as in freeride mode. However I think the important thing is to get the front leg in a more vertical position when just boarding on straights.
