Northwave .950 - Tuning

Post by montefuca » Friday 28 November 2008, 11:14

Hi everybody! Season is preparring for a big start in Italy, snowing from east to west, north and south!

Last week i've bought a pair of brand new NW.950 from a lucky buy it now from italian seller (thanks Kurtsk8 for the suggest)

Now, they're are at home, already fitted while laying around trying to flex in front and back side :D

They seems a little stiffer then other modified suzuka and head that i already own.

I've searched in the large archive of past topic and find modification about k spring and length. And this part it's nearly clear..

Also find modification about the original black tongue that is a little too hard and could be replaced with raichle sb one. Who knows which one?

And what about cutting the shell?

Thanks

Beppe

Nothing !
Just change the original red springs by a green for a better forward.
Then test them & have fun...but be careful by the lateral stiffness of NW  (some times, people don't like that)

You should use SB tongues, the soft ones. bomberonline.com sells them. Depends what size boots you have, they have it only in 25-27.5 mondo.

First Ride On NW: very impressive, without any modification are already very good, good flex but painly on shinbone (correct word?) for the hard tongue, springs seems to be ok.

Big difference from Deeluxe is that the distance between feets and topheet decreased a lot, they're closer, and more flat.

Unique defect: they need a better sole, the original one it's flat and very hard, maybe thermofit
