Good and right post Harald!

Yes, a mental barrier for the masses. That's why you, I and many other riders here, especially love to ride after Easter: empty slopes! :D But this year is particularly frustrating: winter conditions while many good resorts are already closed. :-(

Hi :hello:
in this site BazSnowRace you can find some pics take in Colere a small resort in Val Seriana (Bergamo province) lot of snow and lift open only on week-end.

at the bottom of the page there's also a picture taken in Colere during a Snowboard Camp dedicated to carving that we organize (some guys of italian section of Extremecarving forum) before easter;
the Great "Teacher" (on the Extreme right) was Cesare Pisoni Technical director of Italian snowboard team.

Exactly :D :!: Yesterday, bright sunshine, -2, hero snow on some of the best slopes. For cost saving reasons the most convenient lift for one slope was closed. Therefore, it was necessary with a little detour but still very easy to access the good slope. Result? Slope was almost empty and in perfect condition the whole day :lol: No need to be afraid to be hit from backwards. People do not know what they could be missing late season :badgrin:

The most of us like empty slopes, but not everybody has the opportunity to go after easter. They have to take days off work, plan in advance and do not want to take the risk that there is now snow at all. Not to speak of having a family with children who can only go during schoolholidays.
And what about contracts of all those who work in the winter season sector. Those people need to know what they are up to.
It is all so easy standing on the side line!
I think we have to consider ourselves very happy that we can go and enjoy the snow so often.
But once again: I realy understand the anger and the pain. Even we back here in Belgium have felt it this year especially.
Just can say: GOOD LUCK FOR THE NEXT SEASON TO COME!!!!
Look at it from th bright side! :D :D

I agree, it's a very bad thing to close now resorts, like it will happens in this days.

Now fresh powder-sprays, like on the first picture looking backward on an ordinary powder-turn, on my last descent this evening with my swallow, will come rare. Even on the good snow conditions we have now in Switzerland, up to 3.5-4 meter on 1600 meter over see level or like on the second picture just enough snow on 1200 meter over see level for freeriding, its not time now to close ski-resorts. And as You can see on the left part of the second picture, many poeple want to ride now a days also, so I had to ride on the smaller right side for a free run on my last descent!

@Silber
Don't talk here to loud about ski areas, where snowfall can be to exessive, where sun is shining more often and where palmes are to close to them, even not from Val Groppera!
