Hi boys and girls,
On the french forum, there is a question about the board length ("planches et specs" thread).
Peter Vu asks why our boards are shorter than the rider and not longer.
A too long board is perfect to do E-carve turns but the rider looses a lot of manoeuvrability. In E-carve, the edge switching is quite "acrobatic" and needs an easy board.
This is also why I developed my "special secret construction": as the edge is used all along the gliding length, a shorter board is as stable as a longer one without loosing its manoeuvrability. In fact we have both.
The movie here illustrates this question.
Windows Media Player (.wmv 6MB):

Quicktime (.mov 6MB):

Question: which movie format do you prefer and have you any suggestion to increase the quality and reduce the file size?
Nils, I know you prefer Qicktime because you have a Mac...

Hi
I prefer the quicktime format, I feel it is a more universal choice. Choosing quicktime is like choosing English for the Forum, it will allow the largest amount of people to participate. (Maybe offer both formats?)
For me the size of the video is fine. I find the "Slow-Motion" really helpful in picking up the "how to's" of the E-carve.

boardlength
Hi!
I viewed the movie, which is great BTW!,
and wondered about boardlengths too.
What boards do you ride?
I ride a 163 (i´m 185 cm) Speedster GTS and I feel it´s only a fraction
too small. I rode in kaunertal last weekend with perfect snow conditions and I was amazed from what i could get out of my board there. really extreme carves.
Please enlighten me...
thanks
Jasper
