Swoard in action
Moderators: fivat, rilliet, nils
Hey Eduard,
Congrats for the pics!!!
Just one question: what's your stance in degrees. I am asking this, because my backside is quite similar to yours (although I'm not waiving with my right arm) and I also have a feeling that my butt hinders me from going more deep as it touches the ground first.
As I'm not riding a Swoard yet, but a more narrow F2 Silberpfeil, my stance is front 63, back 57. I have a feeling (although I am not sure) that this is the reason for not being able to go down more with my upper body in the backsides.
I have a feeling that to ride as Jacques and Patrice I should make my body concave and hollow back.
What is your view on this one?
Cheers,
István

Hi Boris
I read you're going from Switzerland to Italy. What is your way ? Before or after Zinal EC meeting, I intend to go to Milano, and don't know the best way. I think all pass will be closed in Feb. Maybe a tunnel ?

hi arnaud,
we will use the car transportation by railway through the vereina tunnel :

olaf: don't worry, there will be enough room on slope no. 19...

Hi Istvan,
I think I forgot to send you a reply to your question
I am very sorry
My stance for the pics is ca. 54 and 49 degrees resp., but this was too little (I have large feet), so I have changed back to 59 and 51 degrees. Feet distance is 53 cm.
I think to achieve similar results as Patrice and Jacques you should not make your body concave or hollow back but simply stay in a relaxed and balanced position right in the middle of the board. Moving your weight back and forth is used for corrections but should not be become a permanent position. If you need such an "artificial" position I would suppose your stance and riding position should be changed. Relaxed, flexed knees, straight upper body with correct rotation, I think this is the basic position. You do not have to work with shifting weight because the Swoard works for you, it distributes the pressure from the feet evenly over the edge, so there is no specific need to support it with more weight on the front or tail.
Just my two cents.
Greetings, Eduard.

Hi FelixFelix wrote:It doesn't seem steep to me though?
I think it's not as steep as the famous Zinal-Slope we know from J&P's Video. But it has 2 parts that are steep enough to keep the speed.
Maybe Pokkis can help us if he reads this thread. He is a master in calculating the steepness out of a photo.
