Question - Big 5 in Tirol

Post by István » Monday 15 October 2007, 10:09

What would be your list of preference of the 5 big glaciers in Tirol, namely Ötztal, Pitztal, Kaunertal, Hintertux and Stubai?

Also would be interested in the arguments, like suitable slopes for EC, accessibility, accomodation, whatever....

Just trying to plan a trip for December and want to get your views. The first 3 I know quite well, To Hintertux I've been a couple of years ago, but cannot really recall it :? , and to Stubai I've never been.

Thanks,

Istvan

Hintertux for me is number two in my personal Tyrolian glacier-ranking (Sölden No1 of course). Generally not too flat, quite some intermidiate fun slopes and at least one slope suityble for EC (and directly leading to the lift ;))

This said, you can relaxtly forget about Stubai.

Well, yes, what about Pitztal?
Flat-slope-country. Only steeper slope need hours to get to un usually crowded days. Maybe my No3/4
