Naked or fully clothed weight? Poll for right flex, please

Hi all

I have decided to try a SWOARD. Thus the usual question arises: Which one. During that question, I stumbled over another... found no answer so far. Namely: What kind of weight is that which is indicated on the choose page? Empty (=no clothes, no nothing) or fully mounted, with boots and all the stuff?

Cool idea: Have a poll decide on the right flex. I'll do that too:
Naked weight: 74kg
Height: 186cm
Feet: 43.5

So apparently I am between S and M.... kindly help me decide with the poll.

P.S. Nils already made a recommendation for the flex - thanks Nils - but I'm still curious what you all what take.
P.P.S. I'm riding a custom made VIRUS Lightning right now - you can expect a comparison between the two as soon as I have my SWOARD.

Interesting question especially that you currently ride a board that is 165 cm long and 17,1 cm wide at its waist. I think you should not bother with the comparison, because these are 2 different worlds....

As for the flex, assuming that you have consciously chosen that Virus Lightning and you are a good rider and you really want to do EC I would go for the M. It will give you more support when pushing it to the limit. It will need some more work and will be less forgiving, but I guess you can handle that having a Lightning.

Thanks... Sure, they are two different worlds. Still, I'll try.
In fact I want two boards of two different worlds. What would I need two equal boards for?

And, to be honest... I'm still learning how to tame the Lightning. It's a beast. Extremely fast, extremely jumpy... If the SWOARD is a less beasty board, to the good... :-/

I am 180cm and 85 kgs and I ride a 168 Hard. So with your length just as Istvan told you, I would take a 175M.

Well, I am 187 per 77 kg...and riding the 175M. Only doubt is if to get the 168H... as it has a smaller radius and thus more comfy to ride in narrower tracks

The Swoard is a very specific board for a specific ridingstyle: extremecarving. I know you can ride this board otherwise too. I first bought my Swoard and I am still trying to get that technique into my legs.
I haven't that much time/possibilities to practice as let say Pokkis or Nils who live near mountains with snow. I like to have some possibilites to choose with varied conditions and the mood I am in. I can choose beween my SWOARD, COILER, POGO (softsetup) and my all time favorite now: my TINKY when I want to make fast, controlled, wide turns, no matter how steep it is. I think life is too short not to have a chance to choose between enough possibilities. That's why I have more boards.

And the 168H suited my weight, shoesize, and length the best according the list (Nils checked my choice before buying). But I think guys with longer legs are more suited with the 175. The 168Hard has a relatively short radius for longer guys. You need some momentum to get you out of laiddown turn. So you need a bigger radius. That's my opinion.

- but for intensive extremecarving, I prefer the 168M. The softer flex helps to make smaller turns, and allow a better speed control.

So if you want to ride fast choose 175M,
if you keep the Virus for usual carving and want the Swoard only for EC on perfect snow, consider 175S

I measure 1.81m and weigh 80 kg and choose 175M;
at ECS I tried 175H but I noticed that H was much more physical to bent the board in the turns....I say M too,

I think Arnaud has a good point here. I have had also the experience that I can't control my turns with the 168Hard. What I want to say is if you are in a turn you can't influence the radius at all. Just one speed and one sort of turn and that it is. And it must be at a rather (high) speed. I don't know about the newer boards. May be they are more controlable/influencable in turns. Notice that a Swoard is not hard to ride. But the versatility in extreme turns is rather small (Swoard 168Hard 3D)

So obviously at the moment it is impossible to answer your question. What we need are pictures of both situations:
One without nothing, the other one with full carving equipment. That would make it much easier to help you (I'm pretty sure...)

I am still wondering if a 175 S is not better than a 175 M for versatilty purpose because of its shorter radius (and maybe for icy conditions).
But then, it may involve a loss of reactivity for the board?

My question is based on the current specs of the Swoard. It would be different if the 175 M had a shorter radius, which may give more versatilty in narrow slopes, with no compromise on its reactivity.

Seems to be a difficult balance to find between the EC technic and the versatility of the board ...

Could the Team answer to my question?
