Bah, what kind of physical activity is it, if it lasts only 5 minutes in average? Even sleeping person consumes more energy (= greater physical activity):
Vegetative functions require energy ca. 1 kcal per 1 kg per 1 hour, thus 80 kg person consumes during 8 hour sleep 640 kcal. If same amount of energy is spent in 5 minutes, then required power would be:
(640 * 4.18 ) /(5*60) = 8.9 kW (almost 12 hp), which is far beyond human capability. To get more realistic, time should be at least 10 times longer, but such long intercourse period is in contradiction with statistics. Thus, it can't be considered as physical activity.

Converting potential energy to kinetic..

Pretty convincing scientific argumentation.... on the other hand it does not really put us men in a good light.....
Now that it has become such scientific I think we should also distinguish between doing it at home and doing it 'off-piste'..... there are signifficant differences
