Indeed I carved hard! I've met Holger from www.frozen-backside.de and dug a few trenches into the glacier together.

The new Zylon has not arrived yet, although Frank promised.... so I rocked it with the Messerschmidt 109.... it was great fun on the steeper side of the glacier, but was kinda difficult on the crowded blue runs... but managed not to kill anyone...
I can confirm that Istvan carved hard! It was so nice to sign the slopes together. His style impressed me so much, that I decided at the same time to come to next Zinal session. Maybe with the new Virus Extremecarver in my luggage.

No, it´s just that I´am actually looking seriously for a new board as I have broken mine. Next weekend is a testival of SG, Virus, Goltes, F2 in Ischgl where I come maybe to a decision. I do not wait to wait until Zinal event next year. But hope I can test there a famous Swoard.
I think it does not matter which type of carving board I´am driving as long as I enjoy it. Actually I love my too short Overdose. Let´s see what I´am riding next year. Maybe I´ll find to a Swoard...

Hans, the previous Zylon suffered a bad accident 3 weeks ago in Pitztal.... due to some fog I missed he slope, went out into the powder (I thought I was still on the hardpack), laid a turn, nose got stuck, did a couple of flips, and the tail got stuck somewhere (I guess it was some hardpack under the powder) and I broke the tail at one of the corners......  :wall:

So I ordered a new one. Frank gave me a nice price :pray2: , but unfortunately I could not get it before we left to Kaprun. :alien: It will be nice to have it under my bed during the whole summer....

The ME109 was a bit of an exaggeration for the slopes of Kaprun, but there is one steeper part where I could make good use of it.... :evil2: on less steep slopes I was just hoping for not hitting and cutting someone in half...

A local manufacturer will try to repair it, it will still be ok for some rocky days and to lend it to friends..... as I could see it broke right where the edge ends, so might be able to get it repaired.....

Cheers

The new Virus X-Treme Carver has an elyptical sidecut. In contrast the Swoard has as everybody knows a radial sidecut. And as everybody knows here, the only concept which works proberly for EC is a radial sidecut. So the new Virus Model is not a Extremecarving board and there are no reasons for worrys that it could become a serious competitor for EC boards as they do not have one. The new carving model seems to have more similarity to their carving series as to a serious extremecarving board. So I do not understand the worries of some guys here.

Actually the situation was not that bad, if you know the Pitztaler glacier, it happened on the way down from the top, and before the slope gets pretty flat, there is a nice steep. Unfortunately only the right side is a slope, the rest is powder.... and I just could not see that in the fog.... tough luck....

The opening with testival in Sölden is on first weekend of november (3./4.11.). But I've read that a few slopes are already open... Maybe you could go to Kaunertal, the dates for Kaunertal-Opening are 12.10. - 14.10. this year.
