Anyone having experience with replacing bails and/or shoulder bolts?

I have replaced a bent bail and a broken shoulder bolt and ever since then the spring is not able to lift the bail due to some friction. I guess the friction is a result of a slight deformation of some other parts.

Anyone having similar case: Solution?

Thanks

For springs there are two holes, check if you used "tighter" hole. That should fix slopiness of bail.

Correct, there are 2 holes. And I used the tighter one. My issue is more like I said some sort of friction coming from I guess a deformation. Grease/oli did not help.

The funny thing is that I do not see any deformation......

Ehm... sure that you turned the bolt in the proper way?
If you mount it in the opposite, it makes friction.
It will not be your case but... make a double check!
I did it and i mounted in the wrong way...

I mounted it correctly (otherwise the spring do not have a hole to fit into). Until the last turn on the screw it works. The final turn and it gets too stiff so the spring cannot lift the bail up anymore.

Actually not a big issue, it functions properly... just wanted to see if anyone had the same experience....

Obviously, you're right.
But I was talking about the bolt that is on the other side!
;-)
I mounted THAT one upsidedown and it was making friction even if the spring one was mounted correctly!
:-)
Try to have a look on the other side...

Correct, If you mount the other bolt inside-out (maybe not upside down) then the cavity which is there to accept the screw gets to the wrong (inner) side.

I'll check that out, but I think that is correct as well.

Thanks, anyhow.
