Pat,

I have a 172 and my girl friend has a 164. IMHO, Lancelot is very nice allround board: you can use it on backcountry as a freeride board, but the board also carves surprisingly well on groomed slopes. If conditions are icy, then it's not good, because the nose it too soft to give proper edge grip.

Some people might think the Lance is just a marketing toy, but I disagree: if you get one let's say for 200-300 euros, it is absolutely worth of money

I use my 172 with F2 Hurricane boots, which are very stiff SI soft boots. I haven't even tried it with hard boots, as I'm very comfortable with stiff softies. I use the same boots with all my powder boards.

Whitey,
thanks for your kind advice. That's very reassuring. I mainly want something for the deep stuff and can't afford a Swell Panic or Pogo so I thought I'd give the Lancelot a go-especially as it was only 200Euro. Would it also go well Catek strap-in bindings do you think?

Yes, no problem! Before Hurricane set-up, I was using it with regular strap-in's and it was working just fine.

Hey Pat,

here I come... I do have a 172 which I ride with hardboots... you'll find that it is a great toy especially if you are used to ride raceboards. The board handles really well on any slope and with the right angles u can even do some EC turns.. Thus if u carry a screwdriver with you u can radically change your style during the day..

Let me know your feelings once you have tried it!

Ciao
Francesco

sounds like I've got a bargain Francesco-what boots and bindings do you use with it? I've shortlisted Catek Freeride and Nidecker 900's....

I bought mine in Germany for 200€ and still extremely glad I did (altough in my future shopping list there is a Phenix 183)...

Anyway, I am using my EC stuff on it!!! which means F2 Race Titanium and Blax Frank with spring modifications....and it rocks!!

Lancelot

Post by Pat Holden » Sunday 8 April 2007, 17:49

Just checking in to post my findings on the Lancelot. I absolutely loved it! there was a great deal of powder in Val Cenis and the Lancelot came into its own there-I used it to bomb the black run from the right hand side of the top lift and had some of my best runs ever on it. It was fast, responsive and stable. Also really good on piste. Very sure footed. Thank you everyone who advised me on the board-it was a really good purchase.
