Raichle AF 600 or AF 700
I know its a personal preference but what would be best for EC-technique?
I'm planning to buy one of these boots and either way I want to tune them with a BTS-system. I'm +-80 kg.
What would you recommend: af 600 with a stronger spring or af 700 with a softer spring?
Grtz,
Erik

Think so.
The af 700 is early deeluxe indy: very stiff shell
The af 600 is early deeluxe suzuka: softer shell
I don't know the stiffness of a Northwave .900 and I want to choose the raichles who come closest to them.
Heard already that the af 600/suzuka would be stiff enough so perhaps I have to take them. Just hoped to hear some replys of some guys who have experience with the set up.
Surely appriciate your interest in my question.
Cheers.

As far as i know, nothing comes close to the Northwaves.erik wrote:I don't know the stiffness of a Northwave .900 and I want to choose the raichles who come closest to them.

They are quiet stiff but the ankle articulation is very loose. So the springs are doing it all.
Raichles articulations are very far from this good. So you'll prefer the softer ones which will leave you more ankle movement.
That's why you'll prefer AF 600 (Suzuka).
I have the SB 324. They're supposed to be the same stiffness as AF 600, but with a different design (older). After i cut them (to gain flexion amplitude) and mounted a custom sping system, they work alright. Not as good as Northwave or well tuned Head Stratos Pro, but alright, i think.

Indeed, the Northwaves are the best but so hard to find.
My burton reactors are at the end of their lives and I can buy the (new)raichles for only 80€. Can't let them go, do I?
Think that I'll go then for the af 600. I suppose that it will be also the best to take the soffest springs (long front as well as short back) to get as much flexibility as possible?

Here's the system i have:

I'd like even softer springs.
But what restricts the ankle movement the most is the boot design. I had to cut the shell in strategic places to gain amplitude.

It wouldn't be very useful because it's not the same shell design as AF 600 (symetric vs asymetric).Silver wrote:Could you put pictures to show where you cut the shell?
Merci!

I think the parts i cut don't exist on asymetric shells.
Anyway, don't rush. Use it without cutting, it might be good enough.
