Plate bindings advice

Post by rc30rob » Sunday 26 November 2006, 22:48

Hi
I was wondering which plate (bail) bindings and boots would be best for me? I know it is a personal preference however some rough guidance would be helpful. I am 5' 11" tall, 183lbs, I am a very competant snowboarder and have been hardbooting for about 8 months (on and off).

My girlfriend is also interested in some plate (bail) bindings to fit boot size mondo 22.0 which would be best and can we buy them online.

Thanks
Rob

Actually you have plenty of good bindings:

Catek and bomber on the heavier and stronger side ( also much more expensive than the rest). Very good quality.

F2 and snowpro's that are cheaper and also very good ( F2 titanium's for example) and also Phiokka PH1, but its a bit stiff for freecarving.

Hope this helps

Hey Rob.

Personally, I use SnowPro Race bindings, they are pretty good There's a bit of flex compared to Bombers, Cateks or any of the step-ins (I like that, to be honest), the only downside is that the toe bails are a bit wide - you may need to wrap electrical tape around the bail to stop your toe slipping from side to side.

Phiokkas come fairly highly recommended, but I've not tried them.
