Security & bindings
I've put some pics of a leash system I'm just using here:
http://mathet.free.fr/
The goal is to keep some link to the board when a binding breaks, so that the other leg doesn't get all the efforts.
What do you think about that? Do you think it is of any help in injuries prevention?
Yann.

I cannot see the point. If you use this on the front foot and the rear binding breaks your front foot still is in the binding and attached to the board either the leash is long or short. Maybe it's a help if the front binding breaks. It happened to me at the end of a lying front turn but then I was lying on the snow anyway. I stopped immediately and nothing happened.

In fact, even if not detailed in the pictures (but you can see it in one of them), I use ONE LEASH PER FOOT. So, on front foot, but also on rear foot.
Are you aware about the very bad injury from last year when someone happened to have 3 frontflips attached to one foot only? It's what affraids me, and the reason why I'm trying to solve.

I think it could be useful if the front binding brakes or the foot comes off. However being that short every time you want to catch a gondola you have to undo it. The back one you would have to open every time you catch any lift. Major pain in the ass. Not for a lazy dude like me.

Silber, I totally agree with you as far as rear foot is concerned : it's a pain to have to unhook it each time you take a lift (on the other hand, you can keep it unhooked when you want, it is then of no use, but creates no problem).
Hence, I'd like to get something more user friendly, but this first feature helps me to feel more secure, since I'm a really paranoiac since I read the topic about injury in USA.

I don't know how such a link would behave when sliding / skidding / rolling over with 1 or 2 broken binding(s)....
A few times in the past my binding opened at extreme forces (I guess after serious overbending of the board), but I managed to survive.... no injury....
My TD2 never opened accidentaly and did not brake so far. But once every binding will brake I guess.... for that special event I think all we have to do is pray
Kindest,
István

Just my opinion: I think your leash setup could help as the board can't twist the foot wich is in the remaining binding. But your system won't help when you break the Bindings out of the Board, what also happens sometimes (ask Bowen)
So i think the main purpose of a leash is to prevent a board running downhill without a rider (happened on ECS 2 though he had a leash, attached on the Binding, but when both bindings break the leash doesn't help really). It get very fast and could injure someone else who gets the board into his back or elsewhere. As well it could fall off when you're sitting in a chairlift, etc.. This is in my opinion the purpose of that leash, preventing the board racing down the hill.
The idea is good, but i'm too lazy to attach the second leash all the time as well, therefore i "try" to control my bindings every morning i go riding. So let'S hope nothing will happen

It actually happened to me last year. Just set up my TD2 for my Blax boots. At the first run, second turn, both my feet came off the bindings at the same time. The standard bomber leash broke (plastic!!!!) and my board started running downhill at great speed towards two kids and their instructor. Missed them by almost nothing... VERY SCARY. Since then I use a metal leash on one board and a very long elastic one on the other.
