Joke

Post by Hans » Thursday 13 April 2006, 21:58

Of course it isn't a joke, every one knows that in China you can find the most clones of any product in the world. And now they are also cloning in the USA :chinese: :naughty: The SWOARD clonevirus has been spread all over the world now. That's a good sign, hope hardbooting will become more popular so newer, better, products will come sooner because the market is demanding that. By cloning the SWOARD, SWOARD will become more popular than it is right now, it's the cheapest advertising you can have.

Greets, Hans.

P.S. It's also well known that Americans don't have humor :? , especially Jack Michaud  who is known as a very serious guy and a very good hardbooter.

I paid nearly 80 euros for chinese VAT and customs import taxes when I bought my Axis...so it's better not to be made in China!!

As for swoard clones, I won't make any comment; my job is not be diplomatic when it comes to copies.

My personal opinion about "Swoard clones" is that it is normal that other people want to do something with a concept they love and even try to improve it. For me it's a great satisfaction. We wanted to share our passion, so now the passion is... shared.
I think that having competitors will create a positive cinergy and I hope that their will be other EC developpents like new bindings, new boots, new gloves, etc, that are optimized for EC.

Passion speaks and i like that!

I think the EC Community is growing and this is the main point ! And innovation comes from competition !

Be careful, the alpine Revolution is coming ...

WELCOME to G-Force !

The Coiler is not clone of swoard. It does not ride like Swoard and it is not built like swoard. It only shares most of the shape of swoard. To say that the coiler is swoard clone is to say that the shape is more important than the internal construction, and that the ATC matrix is not as important as shape.

ATC matrix is not as important as the shape. :-)
The shape is more important than the internal construction :-)
And the rider (The rider) is more important than the shape :-)

p.s. shape = geometry + lengthwise stiffness + torsion stiffness

Stiffness is part of shape?

Then the Coiler is different shape from Swoard, since its stiffness is much different

I understand the swoard team reaction : at first glance, it's hard to accept that someone can benefit from their ideas, concept and work even if the competition boards are not just plain copies. But extremecarving and carving in general deserves and need more visibility on the slopes : last year I was riding in pyrénées when someone asked me what was what I had at the end on my boots... I did not understand his question at first but the guy did not recognize a snowboard... So I believe we need to have more competitors and more carving boards on the ski resort and in rental shops too.
It's up to the swoard team to remain number one.
