F2 Eliminator and extreme carving

Post by Mariusz.Zamojski » Friday 10 January 2003, 15:29

HI

I'm a snowboarder from Poland. I found your site, watched movies and feel in love with ExtremeCarving :) . I'd like to learn it, but I don't have hard boots. I have F2 Eliminator 164cm board (2002/2003 model, FreeRide/FreeCarve board), F2 Proflex bindings (rather stiff, carbon highback), and Rossignol Salto soft boots (but stiff soft boots, 2000/2001 model).
And the main question. Is it possible to apply your technique to such equipment? I read your site and in general you suggest hard equipment.
I know it won't be possible to lay down exactly like you, but maybe it will be looking similar.

Thanks
Mariusz

Hi there, and welcome :)
I'd recommend using higher angles, so that your feet are more in an alpine position.. try with 45/35 angles for example....

keep us informed of how it goes :)
cheers

Hi Mariusz,

I agree with Nils.
With the famous F2 Elimator you can do the carve turns! I've the same board as you with the following settings:
length: 1.67 -> maybe with my length it's a little bit easier
angles: 45/35
binding: F2 Proflex
soft boots: F2 Ripper (there are very stiff boots which are really similar to hard boots)

cu Dani

Hi

Thanks for good advises. I've just come back from a "weekend riding". I used to ride with 35/15 angles as it was suggested by F2 company. I've changed it to 45/35 and now I know what does carving mean :). The results were immediate. I've spend these 2 days on the edges. :)

I am wondering why do they suggest 35/15 angles....

I made big progress and the more I am riding the biggest fun I get.
