23rd ExtremeCarving Session, 2026: Feedback

Post by Swoard team » Monday 2 February 2026, 19:27

The 23rd ExtremeCarving Session has just finished, on this Monday 2nd February 2026. :D :silly:

What another fantastic session! 8O Especially considering that the weather forecast had been poor two days earlier. According to locals such as Patrice, Boris and Stéphane, the EC conditions were the best this season. It had snowed a little during the week.

The atmosphere at the stand, on the slopes and at the dinner was excellent, with all the Swoard fans and riders keen to improve their extremecarving (on Swoard, of course). The lessons were very popular, with boards available to borrow if needed. :bravo:

During the evening, a small tribute was paid to "Petit Seb", who has left us and should have been present (see here). We think of him, no doubt carving up there.
Patrice presented the pre-production Dual3 in all four sizes! New graphics (which was appreciated a lot), new outline (in the nose and tail), and above all, unique technology for even better performance. Taro, who came especially from Japan, was able to test it and confirm this today, as did the Swoard team. :bravo: It should be noted that some black boards were tested intensively by Patrice, Arnaud and Etienne. Their smiles and enthusiasm spoke volumes. To follow in the coming months, but it's sure to cause a stir! :clap3:

There is no film of the event, as on Wednesday the cameramen decided to cancel filming (there is no point in filming on a white day). In the end, the weather was fine and the photos are magnificent. Please give us 1-2 weeks to process them within the time we have available, alongside our busy lives. We will make three ZIP files available to participants, one for each day.
We will keep you informed!

 And you, give us your feedback and brief messages below! We know that social media makes people lazy, but the Swoard and Patrice team give a lot of their time before, during and after the event. Thank you! :D

 The date of the 24th ExtremeCarving Session is already known: 30th January to 1st February 2027.

Thank you to all Swoard fans! 8) :chinese:

This subject is IN CONSTRUCTION and will be completed progressively.

Once again, Patrice the wizard has waved his wand to create a fantastic ECS weekend!

A small layer of fresh snow in the days leading up to the event ensured incredible snow quality, the sun came out despite the gloomy weather forecast, and over a hundred carvers from different continents came together to carve beautiful turns—the perfect combination!

And the announcement of the new production, with a magnificent Dual3 and promising developments on the other models, will put our patience to the test...

A huge thank you to Patrice and the whole team, who work hard every year, in addition to their respective jobs, to enable us to share this precious event. :pray2:

One of the words that's still buzzing around in my head is: HOW ????

How is this all possible when thinking back on the past days.
Indeed what Olive already mentioned, we've all been looking at the forecast for days prior to the event and anticipated on cloudy and maybe some sun and hoping for good visibility.
With a flip of a switch, it all turned around and gave us magnificent weather and conditions.

We arrived on Friday morning when it was indeed cloudy with some small snow flakes dropping from the sky during the day, but visibility was good so we were able to test the slopes and prepare our legs for the days ahead.
Then waking up on Saturday and seeing blue sky, an enormous gift was presented to all of us.
All for the first lift to see the stand appearing with all the work that comes with it and meeting fellow boarders again, you can't put a bigger smile on my face.
Such a nice and friendly community and hoping we all can keep on doing this for as long as we can.

Huge thanks and appreciation to Patrice, Mallorie, instructors, photographer (Fanfoue), and everyone involved in making this happen again. :clap2:  :clap2: :clap3:  :pray2:

Everytime I arrived at the top at Corne de Sorebois I couldn't help myself and kept on thanking the guys from the lift for closing down Le Col for us and the perfect conditions of the slope.
Let's keep on riding the closed slope all together for many more years!

Looking forward to the pictures and hope to see and meet you all again next year  :bravo:

Outside of my window, it's cold, gray, and ugly, almost like in Mordor.

Was it a dream or not?

No, it wasn't a dream, as I look at "the Swoard cup" filled by coffee in front of my desk. I was there!

Thank you all for this GREAT weekend!

Another exceptional weekend... the weather turned beautiful unexpectedly at the last minute... great snow with (almost) no rocks. Patrice spoiled us with the Dual3, which is a pure marvel underfoot. It's always so nice to see some familiar faces and meet new ones. Today, it took a whole day to pack everything up and recover from such a weekend, and tomorrow it's back to work... with a nice SWOARD mug aside the coffee machine.
