Fiberglass or carbon?
Same board, same specs, only difference is materials used (fiberglass or carbon) and properties that those bring (for example, I think carbon is stiffer but lighter in weight, so the board can be made thinner and is lighter).
Difference in price is that carbon version is 40% more expensive that the fiberglass one.
And the question is - which one to buy? I don’t mind putting out 60% more if that gets me something. But if I don’t get nothing (except to say “Look, it’s carbon”) then I won’t take it. Also, there’s possibility carbon may have some property that affects board behaviour negatively (from EC perspective).
I believe carbon has greater torsional stiffness (depending on how layers are put together), but I might be wrong.
Any thoughts? Or even better - facts or experiences?
Thanx!!!

Easy answer: ride both.
If you dont have the possibility: don´t buy.

Agree with Jörg.
Impossible to give you an answer without more informations. It's sure that if you take a good fiberglass board and replace the fiberglass with carbon, without changing anything else you'll get a poor board.
I remember a well known softboots board that exists in both versions: while the standard version is a versatile board , the carbon version, which costs 200€ more, is too stiff, unforgiving, and really uncomfortable.

Re: Fiberglass or carbon?
I don't like carbon boards are too snappy for my relaxed carving.
If you want something exotic try something in Kevlar almost the best from all materials but very difficult to work.
Fiberglass and rubber is a great compromise for reactive boards.
Titanal is the way for hard pack and ice.

Re: Fiberglass or carbon?
Between glass and carbon, certainly carbon, but naturally board construction must be designed for it.
Kevlar is like glass, so not much difference.

Thanx people,
I see the general direction. Obviously I will have to find a way to try first, but since I’m leaning more towards relaxed, “lazy” riding, I need to double-test the very reactive carbon to make sure it fits me.
