SG Full Race Pro Team length 170 - why?

Hi,
do you know why SG manufacturer has stopped make the board (length 170), didn't the length and flex work good together? Last board was made in season 2014/15

I had two of them and they were too stiff

Were they more stiff than 163 or 175/185?

I had one full race and one full race team edition, one 175 full carve and one 180 full carve.
So they are different boards the full race are in titanal the full carve are not.
By the way
The 175 fc is quite soft, than the 180 fc that is the correct stiffness in my feelings, the 170 fr that were too stiff.

But the 170 is still available

pro team currently produced only in race lenghts, while 170 is percieved as freecarve board.
At least this is what I have heard on SG camp last year.

175 is softer than 170, as 175 is ladies GS board.

175 has even shorter radius than 170.

I did ride both of them and the flex of 170 is on par with 180, while 175 I find too soft and too narrow and i have to crank up the angles to ride it.

170 for me a is a great freecarve board, given that you have a bit of real estate to ride it.

I guess its also nice to have a pro team version of the board, however be mindful that there is no physical changes to the board on full race vs full race pro team. Just the graphics, as SG very rarely makes custom boards and only for a selected few.

I owned the 170 Titanal board. 20cm width and 15m radius. It is very fast and also can be bendt down to tighter radius if needed. I really loved this board but broke it per accident in a crash.
An excellent board for dynamic carving in between the slalom 163 and giant slalom 180,185 lengths for men.
The 170 was a bit softer than both 163, 180 and 185 in the seasons it was produced.
I owne(d) them all.
The 157,175 boards are designed for women racing with 19cm width and much softer of course.
170 and 180 have been stopped to be produced in the ProTeam version because only the remaining length
for men 163,185 and 157,175 for women are used in racing competitions.
All lengths are still offered for the Titanal version which is the identical construction as the ProTeam version but only with another top sheet design and base logo.
