Location nearest to Luxembourg for carving?

Post by yyzcanuck » Wednesday 4 December 2002, 21:53

I'm wondering what resort is nearest to Luxembourg? How many km's away? Is there enough snow?

there are good resorts ( not steep) in alsace.... check in google alsace + ski...
they're better than nothing ;) otherwise you're 5 hours from the alps so should be able to go to chamonix instead if u look for steep ;)

or if you're really really lucky there might be one of these tiny resorts in the neighbouring belgian ardennes that would be open...but don't count on it, as they tend to open a few days once every 5 years.

You may find that the Swiss Alps are closer than the french Alps via
Basel.. There was recently a thread on this subject on the
rec.skiing.resorts.europe newsgroup.

As to which Swiss mountains are best for carving. I live in Zurich and I
haven't found a really good place for carving yet.
