Hi folks,

I own a pair of Raiche 223s and when mounting the ACSS I noticed that theres is not really enough room for the "special screw" to fix the lower part of the ACSS to the shell. With my boot, the screw can cause the shell to get stuck in its forward position.
Shortening the "thorns" did not help. I assume, this problem only occurs with old Raichle boots like my 223s.

So I found a different way to fix the lower part of the ACSS.
Material needed: 2 aluminium bolts (thickness 3 mm, length 44 mm)

Warning: Do not replace the original bolts! They are made from steel - aluminium would not be strong enough!

First I mounted the ACSS (only upper bolt!) and drilled a 3mm hole through the shell and the ACSS (begin with 2mm drill, then 3mm)

Then I widened the hole in the ACSS, using a 3.5mm drill.

Then I prepared the aluminium bolts. 3mm Aluminium rods are rather cheap.
I sawed off 2 pieces, each 44mm long.

I made ridges into one end of the bolts, like this:

Afterwards, the bolts look like this (to prevent them from slipping out):

Finally drive the bolts in, just like the original upper bolts.

I have not tested the system on snow yet, and I don't know if there are any disadvantages.
The second photo (bolt 003.jpg) shows what it looks like.

I can recommend this mod! It will definitely work good!

The point is to generally keep the U-shape part from moving / rotating .

I tested the system for 4 days. Works wonderful, no problems at all.
Everything seems to move more smoothly now.
I also have the impression that the ACSS makes it easier to sit down on the back foot just before entering the turn.

Hi Mirek,

it looks like you did not screw the upper screws very far downwards. This allows VERY far forward movement.
I made the experience that NOT limiting forward movement can be dangerous for your ankles, especially when riding on fresh snow with moguls.
Therefore I screwed the upper screws down about 1.3 cm.
But of course everybody's feet (and leg muscles!) are different. Anyway, it is great that Abrax's ACSS can be tuned so easily.

Christian, you are talking about the thing which is very important and which was discussed before in this topic. I do have the higher nut about 1cm from the top, but my achilee is very well stretched so I can go as far as my ankle lets me to. Not everybody will have it stretched that much, so please start from the screwed position and unscrew to get a better progress.

Of course you're right!
At beginning ( a few first ride) I tightened the nut about 1,0-1,5 cm - then I make the appropriate adjustments.

Today I had some time and I did the home test ACSS.

ACSS for Raichle/Deeluxe - test

Frosts are coming to us – maybe for a one week I will be able to ride a snowboard...

Did somebody try to install this system on UPZ RC10?
I wonder if there is enough space to accomodate the rod and springs in the boot?

I do not install the ACSS for Deeluxe/Raichle in UPZ. My system is not designed for this shell.

I saw some pictures flying in forums with previous ACSS 2011 modified for UPZ RC-10.
Will be interesting to hear feedbacks from users.
