SWOARD ECS 2011 > registrations and details
Hello all!
The Reservation Center (which is NOT in Zinal) is ready for the registrations!
Each participant will need a blue package, a red package or a yellow package, to purchase BEFORE the event. In Zinal it will be too late: the skipasses are sold at normal price only. Moreover the number of participants to the event and to the dinner will be limited to 250 persons.
Please call (or write to) the Reservation Center of Sierre-Anniviers Tourisme ("Coeur du Valais").
Phone number: +41 (0)848 848 027 (Mon-Fri 08:00-18:00). E-mail address: info@sierre-anniviers.ch
All details, activities, program and prices: Swoard ECS 2011 (PDF document, 1.52 MB)
Info can also been found on the Web page Events, as well as the links to the threads, pictures, videos, etc. related to the previous sessions.
Add your names in the other thread with the list of participants to inform the Forum community about your participation.
All questions can be asked in this thread below! Thank you!
If you have any accommodation problem, the Reservation Center can help you. Note that it's possible to sleep in Grimentz, the other resort which is only 10 minutes away (by car or bus).

Don't hesitate to organize car sharing in other threads.
If it's your first participation, here is the location of Zinal in the canton of Valais! Follow the highway Geneva-Lausanne-Sion-Sierre until "Sierre-Ouest". Take the exit "Val d'Anniviers" and then follow the direction "Zinal".
Further to east, in the next valley, people don't speak French but Swiss German...

Re: SWOARD ECS 2011 > registrations and details
The normal price of the skipass has been unfortunately increased in the "Val d'Anniviers" this year:
49 CHF per day (about 35 Euros).
For 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 consecutive days, the normal price is 93 / 137 / 178 / 216 / 245 / 273 CHF.
In consequence, for the people who are staying in the resort less than 7 days, it is always better value to take the blue package + a skipass for the additional days, instead of a skipass at full price for the entire stay + the yellow package.
It is better value to take the yellow package only if you stay 7 days or more in the resort.

Demo boards with XH flex
Hello Patryk and welcome!
See you in Zinal!
Patrice Fivat
No sorry, because there is too little demand for this flex in size 168. But you already can get a good feeling by testing a 168H (and keeping in mind that with the 168XH, adapted to your weight, you will have more stability at high speed or on soft snow). We won't have the 175XH neither, though there is more demand for this one.patkomdh wrote:Will there be Swoard 168 XH for testing ?

Thanks! Happy New Year to you too!
Unfortunately it's not possible. There are two groups of persons involved: 1) the Reservation Center in Sierre: they use an automatic system on computers 2) the people working at the cashier in Zinal: they follow the instructions given by the Reservation Center.
So you have to purchase the red package in the Reservation Center (before the meeting) and get a normal skipass on Friday at the main lift of Zinal. The difference is small.
See you in 3 weeks!

Accomodation
IMPORTANT if you are looking for accommodation:
The hotels in Zinal are almost full today (on 9th January) for the meeting. But this is not a problem!
Here is the info I got:
- Hotel "Europe" has still 18 beds free
- Hotel "Les Bouquetins" has 2 rooms free
More rooms are available in the small villages around Zinal (5-10 minutes by car only):
Grimentz (many hotels), Mayoux, St-Jean, Ayer (hotel "Rothorn").
Farther you can sleep in Vissoie (15 minutes by car).
Don't hesitate to call the Reservation Center: they can help you in finding accommodation.

Very last news
VERY LAST NEWS
1)
When you get your package at the main lift, you receive in addition some tickets for -10% rebate at the new "Buffet Alpin".
This is a new place below the restaurant in Sorebois. You go downstairs on the left and, for the normal price of 25 CHF (22.50 CHF with the rebate), you can eat all what you want, as much as you can: soups, starters, various dishes (warm and cold), deserts, etc. There is also free syrup! The place is calm and nice. In total it's cheaper than a normal dish and a small drink at the main restaurant.
Probably a cool way to meet each others during the lunch time.
2)
Tooltonic will propose this year again a special discount for the participants:
-10% on all tools, and -20% on the famous X-Flat.
See the info from last year here: it has not changed.
3)
The weather forecast is confirmed: we will have 3 sunny days!
So in 8 sessions and 24 days, the total of sunny days will be 23, with only one snowy day (Saturday last year).
4)
The snow quality is much better (no ice, good grip) than in most resorts of the West Alps (France and Switzerland) which have pure ice and stones. Indeed it has almost not snowed since Christmas and it has rained very high (but below Zinal slopes).
Of course there are some stones on the slopes "Barthélémy" and "La Corne". You can see them but you can't carve lazily.
The other slopes are perfect, especially the slope "Durand" (the one completely on the left) which is excellent for extremecarving too.
The small black slope below the chairlift "La Corne" will be reserved for the participants only, instead of "Le Col".
The photograph and the cameraman will be there at 9am.
See you on Saturday!
