Deeluxe track 700 / 700T/ 325 - choose a good size

Post by initram » Tuesday 8 February 2011, 0:06

Hi All,

I would like to order Deeluxe hard boots via internet shop, but in advance I need your help with choosing a good size. My length of foot is 284mm. What size of Deeluxe track 700 / 700 Thermo or 325 should I choose. In my country aren`t any shops with deeluxe hard boots :( and I can`t try it.

Thanks&Regards
Martin

My feet are 282mm and I have Mondo 28 in my 700T and length are fine but there was a little bit too much volume.
The liner has changed a bit since I bought mine 2 years ago so not sure how they are today.
On the other hand, I just bought new liners which are thicker than the old ones and boot fits perfect right now.

If you want to choose a moldable, i.e. thermoflex liner with intention to do a bootfitting you need to know that Deeluxe liners are crap and you will need to replace them by something more reliable from Intuintion, Scarpa or Palau.

Tohass actually pick a bigger size, therefore he had this feeling of too much volume after a time...And possibly improper heel fixation. Right?

If thermoflex liner is properly chosen and molded it provides necesssary comfort and dense fixation of everything is needed to be fixed properly. This can be achieved by a bootfitting procedure which involves:
- feet preparation that makes more space for fingers
- heating the liner up to 110-115 degrees C
- entering the boot and knocking to ensure that heel have properly formed place
- staying for a while (25-30 minutes) like heron to make feet expanded a little in the liner to ensure sufficient space.

The size of the boot can be 10-20 mm less than your feet. so if you have 280 mm size feet you can buy 27MP size boot or :-) if you are crazy enough even 26MP - but keep in mind this would require bootfitting .You can make it in home and repeat if boot not fit well.

Here are few vids with russian sound, but picture should explain.

If you afraid of scary word "bootfitting" - go for the shop to ensure boot is fitting your feet.

My 700 had too much volume already from the beginning. The original liner was ok in the morning but after some time when the feet became warm and heated the liner, it became worse and I had to tighten the boots very hard.
Heel grip was crap.

After a suggestion from pokkis, I bought the Palau liner. I've been riding with those for three occasions and it's a huge difference. I hardly need to tighten the boots, heel grip is perfect and volume is perfect.

Feels like size 27 would have been too short for me.

It would be ok if liner will be molded properly :-) But if you are happy with your new liners there is no need to go other way.

I have 290 mm feet and i ride in Deeluxe suzuka 27MP shell. Also Palau :-)

Those vids i`ve posted explaining a little how to fit a big feet in small boot. It is not needed for everyone, but if you have big feets and want more flexibility in angles settings - this works :-)

P.S.: Yep :-) deeluxe liner is a great piece of s**it!
