Bomber TD2

Post by István » Friday 2 April 2004, 9:43

Guys,

Seeing the results of the Poll that I posted concerning bindings, I decided to order a TD2.

Any hints concerning front cant disk / rear cant disk / elastimer ring / anything else?

Kindest,

István

Hi Istvan,

as J&P recommend don´t use any canting so i recommend to order it with 0 degree disk. I would say order not only one elastomer ring, order at least the yellow and blue one and try which one fits best your riding style. I would also recommend to order the standard TD2 because the lateral flex is poor from the step in one - you can read this in the testing report from J&P.

Hi Tommaso,

I was considering something similar.

For the rings I might buy all three, not that expensive. As for the step-in ones, I would never buy it, not just because of the lateral flex, but because I do not really trust that technology.

Concerning the disks, in the last years I always had a back foot heel lift and canting, I do not know how it would feel without it. I want to try it flat, but I think I'll order both 0 and 3 degrees just to make sure it suits me.

Actually 0 degree is out. :-(

Any other hints, guys?

Kindest,

István

huh? 0 degree WAS out..but it's not anymore...
Personally, when I order mine, I'm getting the soft and medium elastiomer rings. And aren't those two purple and yellow? Not blue and yellow? Unless bomber is lying to me...

Yes, you are right. And the yellow ones works perfectly fine. I have tried the purple ones also but I prefer the yellow ones. More feeling and therefore more edgehold/control is the result of the softer ones to me. The red ones are the toughest for hardcore racers which I am not all the time.

Hi,

i agree to Hans and i am writing blue instead of purple because i am colour blind - sorry. I also ride my TD2´s with the yellow ones and i weight about 100kg and even for such a heavy rider the yellow ones work fine

TD2 Opinion from a non-extreme carver

Post by Randy » Wednesday 21 April 2004, 23:47

I'm not an extreme carver by any stretch. I race a lot and ride in Tahoe, CA. I have TD2 Step-ins. I ride with 6* rear and 3* front and like the feel a lot. If you want options, you might consider buying an "extra board kit". You can buy it with any combination of e-ring and cants. Its nice to have just so you can switch boards really quickly mid-day. If you end up with a cant disk you don't like, it will be easy to either sell it or swap it on Bomberonline with someone. You are going to love the bindings. I like them so much better than my F2 Titanflex bindings.
