How to get a pair of ACSS's?

Post by Transistor Rhythm » Sunday 3 May 2009, 17:31

I was looking into a suspension system for my Blax Vector's, and ACSS seems like a much more elegant solution for it than the BTS. Are ACSS kits sold or do you just have to be lucky and know Arnaud to be able obtain them?

Is there any difference between BTS and ACSS in terms of function?

While opening it up to see if there was a spring inside I made some discouraging discoveries. It seems they used a different block in the mold to fit the different system, and seeing from the inside there is a difference too. With just a little cutting the spring itself would nicely fit, but the flat plate for screwing it on would be a problem.....

ACSS on Vector Blax

Post by Arnaud » Monday 4 May 2009, 21:39

Big difference :(
It should be possible to mount the system, but you must make some modification. I can also build a specific aluminium bracket .
Could you give me width dimensions of the shell shape (W1 and W2) See below.

W1 3,2 cm
W2 1,5 cm

Maybe I might be off a mm, it used a simple ruler to measure it.

W1. OK
W2 : the external spring diameter is 16 mm, and you need some clearance around :(

I guess the plastic will not be thicker than 3mm - so widening the small gap is probably a no go. Would a BTS fit? There is even already a hole pre-drilled but I might run into the same problems.
