Pale stops Ski/Snowboard production?

Post by Felix » Sunday 17 August 2008, 21:14

Hello, does anyone know anything about the economical state of Pale Ski & Sport Gesellschaft m.b.H. & Co KG ? One of the few bigger ski and snowboard producers (mainly OEM) still left in Austria (concerning production) - they produce for quite a lot (I would estimate at least 40-50) small brands.

I heard some very bad knews about Pale concerning possible production stop by end of 2008. Any Confirmations?

Googling doesn't (yet) help.

No free access for everybody to the "Firmenbuchdatenbank" in Austria like in Switzerland?

Just in 3 minutes from the search-engine http://www.alltheweb.com to the result:

Bad news! Bad news! No more 500 workers and now no more 93!
So we will tune more and more to chinese snowboards!

(E.G. the same official Burton X8 (no Chinese product) price tag in Europe is about Euro 570.-, in China about only Euro 380.-, I don't know the price tags from Völkl Boards (full Chinese product) in China)
Gliding on Snowboards,
like Pogo, Kessler, Virus, Hot, Nidecker and others,
from 151 up to 183 cm and 14 to 27.4 cm width,
covering any kind of shapes with
any kind of boots and bindings.

Shit, so it's true. I got the message the 15. when Pale told a friend of mine that they can't produce for us (we weren't yet in negotiations with Pale, but had demanded for some prices) but wanted to wait hoping not to see it happen. Didn't read about it in the news so I hoped for survival of some kind.

So there will be no more raceboard for Euro 230.- like the Drive from Pale on market in future!

The race-boards from Pale (see foto) we could buy Years ago every 10-20 km on supermarkets! The price-tag was at 329.- in SwissFrancs, that's about Euro 200.-!
And Years before the Viper, the put out a woodcore raceboard labeld whith "Frantic" at SFr. 269.- (Euro 165.-).

But as we well know, nowadays carving is proposing e.g. on Austrian glaciers or on Silvretta-Nova, from guys just presenting themself on quite easy, well groomed, not icy slopes, declaring then, they push now carving.
Just annoying: who want to start riding in such a way with a carving-board for Euro 920.- and more? Poeple anywhere knows, that they could buy some Years ago a Board, a binding and a boot (regulare stuff, no outlet!) for the half at this price (Euro 460.-), and of course whith not at all having less fun with it on similiar type of slopes!
