Hey there.

I was in Whistler during snowboard world Champs in Jan 2005.

Basically there is almost no hard boot equipment to hire. There was one shop (near the cinema) where they had some PRIOR stuff you could demo, but you had to have your own boots (or buy them). Whistler is rather known for its powder and there is serious backcountry there...

If you do have equipment, then carving is great. Runs are rather empty. Skiers seem to be more carving aware (i had much less near-collisions with skiers there). There are quite a few double-diamond runs on Blackcomb that are good for EC.

During Snowboard World Champs there were quite a few hardbooters on the mountain, but before the WC I only met one local dude on hardboots during a whole week...

If you are there, definately visit the Prior factory (it's in Whistler industrial, but there are buses) and they might have some nice demo equipment there for you to try.

Obviously bomberonline.com forum will have more...

Cheers
Bart

Thanks, I posted my question at bomberonline...

I think I have to buy the equipement - for more than 1 month it will be probably cheaper.
