recommendations in the Lago Maggiore area

Hello friends,
has anybody experiences with goods resorts and places around the Lago? I´m planning a family trip during the Christmas weeks.

I would appreciate to get some information about slopes and also places to rent an appartement in the winter. We would prefer the italian part of the Lago.

So, thanks for your help !!! I´m looking forward to some Tipps.

I guess your best bets for good carving are Cervinia/Zermatt or the closest probably are the little lifts on the Sempione. Otherwise leave the family at the lake and drive to Zinal....
Actually if you find any other good spot let me know.

Thank you for the advise. Actually Zina isn´t that far on a Map. Do you know if the roads will work in December? this could be a 2 hour or also a ?hour ride. Depends on road conditions if there are no tunnels.
