O.k., let's get a bit more detailled:
Some minutes ago I recieved an Email from Georg Rabenser saying, that rabanser bought the tools of the Northwave boots.
At the moment they are planning the start of production.
So there is hope again

Tom, not to be pessimist, but I have been involved in this situation too many times (last one on April's fool..... I spoke with NW directly in Italy (2 times with the management, once with the guy that sold me his own 950s)..and they always told me the molds had been destroyed (probably to consolidate some losses for balance sheet/fiscal purposes.
Not only, Georg told me the same thing last year in July (that he had the molds....) and I still wear my old NW Nexus...
let's keep our fingers crossed..but from what they told me, production to be worth it should be for a minimum of 5000 pairs...not sure if I wish Georg to get into this business..very risky!
Plus, for as good as they were, now it's 2007... it should be time for DeeLuxe or UPZ to make some serious boots with modern technology!!!

Francesco,
I totally understand you concerns.
But nevertheless, I do not want to become pessimistic. Do you think, Georg does not have the molds? I think he has. Do you think, it might be not profitable to build these boots? This might be true. But to be honest: If there are molds existing, I think, noone needs 5000pcs to be profitable. Usually calculation in this field is the other way round: how many pieces do I need to regain the molds.
Let's be hopeful!

If true, another problem to face will be:
- what plastic hardness to choose... yellow is good for racing but too stiff for freecarving...
- what price will be ( the original NW 900-950 where cheaper than the competition, since the "finish" look and details on the boots are pretty "cheap"
- what sizes to build...
i still wonder why the NW factory is telling us for the last 4 years that molds have been destroyed, if someone just bought them thu...

Nils, that's true...especially about the plastic. Georg style is pure racing...and he's not so fond of the EC technique at all!! Thus, I wonder which plastic he would choose...

Nils, have you tried .900 (grey) & .950 (yellow) to tell that ? Anybody else ???
Oke, I've bought twice last year and I can say there is a difference in forward flex due to springs (blue vs red).
But for lateral flex, I not sure there is a large difference (but I don't tried .900).
For sure with our feedback (my brother & me), there is an enormous difference in lateral flex between NW's & Head / Deeluxe Suzuka.
Now I'm using Head for freeriding with my swallow tail !!!

so in my opinion, if Georg make new boots fore racing, it'll not a problem !!!

Georg was a national champion of snowboard (SL & GS) and now He is a snowboard instructor. The last year I attended with Silber a snow-camp organized by Georg, and I can say that He is a very good instructor but the techniques he teaches is different from that we want to achieve!

Who wears this Northwave boots?
O.k. it's not a special thing, to see poeple riding Nortwave boots in capital Switzerland . Most time, I think about 50 % of the days I was out on snow this winter I saw riders with such boot type on raceboards (no race days/locations).
But in this case, this week, I saw a famous person using them for freeriding.
Who think You was the person? (helpsteps follows)
