Leaving for noboarding in Revelstoke, Thursday.
It refuses to stop snowing there. By Friday it is supposed to be fairly clear, with decent snow stability.
This time, I will get some video with no bindings and no hands on the rope.
Surf-style only!

Lebanon is looking great this year.
Maybe we should consider staying away from the alps.

Last year by this time my homemountain Hochkar we had a base layer of 3.5m (topping out at 5-7m base end of Feb) at 1800m altitude. The area could not open for summer tourism before july. North facing slopes had still snow in June. This year ist 60cm (the fewest since the opening of the ski area during the 60s). And now its supposed to be raining down to 2200m.

Tahoe area is in the same boat as Europe. 70cm at best, unless unrelenting snowmaking is going on. We haven't had snow in almost a month now. 8O Predictions for Feb getting better though are starting to surface.

Of course you can ride it backwards...if you're careful.

+ 70 cm of fresh powdersnow (on lower Station, on the mountain probably more) can be so awful, like for this guy today!

Where? Swiss Mike You know there are in Italy, Austria, France and also Switzerland hundreds of small Ski-resorts. It was at one of them. Look at www.mySwitzerland.com ! Probable it was at lower altitude then Zinal, including snowhigh like on basestation (see picture 1), so I had to bend me lower for reading the signs. And prices are also lower, SFr. 29.- for the ski-ticket and SFr. 11.- for Spaghettis and of course, capability for Parking is also lower. (see picture 2) I was counting there about 40-50 cars.

nice powder but way too flat. Must be perfect for cross-country skiing or doing some sledge riding with the kids on the other hand.
