[report] ACSS Manufacturing

Post by Arnaud » Monday 26 September 2011, 19:26

Here is the brief report abut the ACSS manufacturing

1 - first step : buying all components. Fortunately I found a web site where I can buy online screws, nuts, tapped rods, ... (all stainless steel ) Springs supplied by Rabourdin.
For aluminium rods, it's much more complicated ... sometime I find the rod in a shop, sometime on ebay, depending of availability

2 - cutting the aluminium components. I use my wood machine with a specific blade to cut aluminium parts

then I make a little champfer on the L bracket.

4 - Drilling the D4.2 hole across the nipple with a drilling / miling machine. I use a steel mounting to drill through the axis

WOW!

This is pretty awesome to see how the ACSS is actually made. :pray2: I've already done the necessary modifications to my boots, all I have left is to drill the holes to mount the angle brackets.

@Arnaud
Thank you for shipping out the ACSS kit. :D Hopefully they'll make a fast trip across the Atlantic to the US!!!
