Is the conversion between 3D and 4x4 possible?

Post by rrozz » Saturday 25 September 2010, 23:28

As the topic says. Is there any brand producing an universal conversion lift or sth between 3D and 4x4? I'm gonna purchase some new plates, however, I have to bear in mind the future, for now i got Burton Speed 168, but who knows what board will I be riding in future. So this, puts me in problem, cos i cant afford for two complete sets. Leave some ideas.

Thanks in advace.

Phiokka bindings (PH1 and PH46) have center disks that allow 3D and 4x4 pattern. So this should not be an no issue

No chance for Cats, TD3 or F2 Race? Anyways, how about changeable heels for Cats Step-ins, I haven't seen any of their own products on the official website? Does anyone use this set and could tell me which heels fit?

You can get a similar quality board with normal inserts for €50,- on eBay, why waste that much money on a special kit for a brand of boards you will not ever purchase again?

You can work with the newer F2 4x4 disks on 3D boards.

However when I bought my first set of what were then Proflex Intec Titanium race plates, I bought an additional set of titanium 3D plates, as I wasn't sure at that point that you could use the 4x4 disks on 3D. I used them for a few years, then later did not bother. At that time I rode a mix of Burton and standard boards; these days Burton is dead for me. Except for their Chinese clothing for which I'm grateful, Jake.

So:
- There are standard Intec 3D disks available
- If you really want some, then I have a pair you can have for the postage.

Note that the original Proflex plates (both 4x4 and 3D) are heavier than the latest 4x4 plates. They were just beefier back then.

Sorry but I don't understand which bindings do you have now.
If you have Burton you can just change the center disks with 4x4 .
F2 doesn't sell 3D disks.
I've made by myself for using Titanflex on Burton board but they costed nearly 50€ for pair.
For 25 30 € you can have a pair of Proflex , that I use normally and I weight 130kg.
