How to fix gloves
Hey Swoard team,
Once one of you suggested me to fix worn-out gloves with a special material and glue.
I think this issue is of high importance as the average glove consumption of an advanced EC rider is at least 1 pair per season.
Could you please share that useful piece of advice again. (name of the stuff)
Cheers,
István

I'm using Polyglut
Polyglut aka aquaglutene is a liquid rubber that dries within few minutes.
You find it in shops that sell diving/hydrospeed gear.
How to use it:
Apply generously on tear/hole or on new gloves, and then let dry
Repeat 3-4 times the operation or more for durable solution
It resists quite well hard snows and wear, and can also be reapplied quickly in case of abrasive snow before the next day
Cost is around 15 euros here for something like 20cl

Duck tape
Here is "Duck tape"What's "duck tape"
Very strong but awful
See the result on https://www.extremecarving.com/tech/mat.html "Clothes" section

Hi Olaf,
"duck tape" (more exact: Duck power tape, because duck tape comes in various forms) is made by Henkel, "Extra Power Gewebeband" is made by Tesa, you can use either. You can buy them in any storehause (Kaufhaus) or "do it yourself-shop" (Baumarkt). (You speak German, don't you?)

http://www.duck-tape.de (choose power tape)
Works really well, easy to apply (no glue etc.).
Greetings, Eduard.

I was actually thinking about sewing and gluing a special material (a piece of seat-belt band) onto the palm of the gloves that I used and worn-out in the previous season.
It seems so strong and undestroyable and what can I lose with experimenting with a worn-out gloves.
What do you think, guys?
Cheers,
István

Seat-belt band is made with polyester fiber. It is close to the material used for gloves. Very high tensile stress but not undestroyable, especially by friction. Of course, due to the thickness of the band, it will take time to consume it
IMHO, soft rubber band is better.
You can also use leather wich is very wear resistant
I'm thinking about gluing a Kevlar cloth. kevlar is very good for scraping strength

Duck tape
Actually: the truth is duck tape is a brand, and the real product name is called in english duct tape, since it was first invented i believe to be used on duct pipes etc... Duck is a brand, maybe german, that i never seen here .. The original duct tape has a real aluminium layer to the outside, that makes it usable on hot pipes etc...
Hi there....
be carefull with duck-tape....I broke one finger with that, cause when I was lying in the slope, my finger was knicking exactly where the tape ended.... NOT so funny...
Shoe-goo: It gets too hard from my point of view.
Best solution from my side: Sikaflex 360HC from SIKA .... this is a glue used in Automobile industry. This is hell stuff! You can use ist to glue fabrics to your gloves or even to clothing...it stays flexible
But we still are experimenting around....
