Accessories - BIG opportunity

Post by Silber » Monday 27 February 2006, 17:12

Guys, dreams sometimes do come true.. we might be able to have all the accessories we want. Spare parts, RABs modification systems etc etc. (maybe new NWs....but that's a big dream..). Anyway, please let me know which accessories for snowboards, boots, glove etc u would want to have if you could.

Ciao & cross your fingers!!!!!!!

Tommaso, that's exactly what I mean....we might be able to have all spare parts we need....I need to build up a list to see if I can create enough volume to convince somebody though... So:

All RABs, NW, Head etc. modified systems
Spare Boot Tongues of various stiffness
Springs (but for springs I think everybody has been able to get them on their own)
Gloves protection
Shin protectors for inside the boots
F2 race titanium spare parts...
what else???

I would be interested by NW with the RAB which goes with it. Or then HEAD with same idea.

But I don't understand what you are trying to achieve by asking this...
Swoard 2D gen3 168M-0135
F2 race titanium
Head Stratos Pro modif ACSS Mark3
Swoard Dual 168 - Flow the Eleven
F2 Boxer

Concept is: we need a lot of different things that are not produced by major suppliers due to their limited market.

We can produce individually some parts, but it's very time consuming and we all have other jobs to do (I work for a telecom company).

I have a chance to convince a small manufacturer to produce in limited quantities, but I would be much more effective if I could demonstrate that putting together all the possible revenues from these little items I could justify his time and effort into this.

Thus, I need anybody's interested in spare parts etc help in building this list of items.

That's it!!

New NW .900

But I doubt that you can convince someone to produce them...

Modified RAB, ACSS (under arnaud's license, maybe), strong gloves.

Hello there,

my wish list would include only one item: soft tonques for NW 900's by plastic, which is not affected by cold weather.

I need tongues for Head boots, molded with very soft elastomeric plastic. Let say less than 30 Shore D or 70-80 Shore A

Not a bad idea. I want some too, in order to have a better flex control with the spring.

Dream Big!

Post by rcrobar » Tuesday 28 February 2006, 20:34

Hi Silber

Thank you for trying to get these items manufactured, we will all benefit if you are successful!
The list of accessories and parts the forum members are generating is perfect, but I say dream bigger!!

Dream

Someone builds and sells a NEW boot binding interface that is designed specifically for the rotational technique. You could work in collaboration with guys like J&P or the PureBoarding guys, etc., who will probably work for free ... with the NorthWave company! Do this and you have the potential to sell a lot of product, like Swoard.

Boots.

NorthWave boots earned snowboard GS Gold and Silver in this years Olympics. I love my NorthWave boots, but I had to cut the springs, change the tongue, cut some velcro off to allow more movement, cut plastic off the back of the shell to stop possible binding when the knees/ankles are really flexed ... before I REALLY liked them. They are the best boots I have ever owned, but most guys do NOT want these types of modification headaches.

Bindings.

I also love my TD2's, they are Expensive quality bindings with a super smooth ride. But, I have broken two TD2 Ti bails during my last three days on snow! TD2's are beautiful bindings, but I am getting tired or riding around with spare bails and tools in my pocket ... waiting for the next break. They are the best bindings I have ever owned, but most guys do NOT want these types of issues when riding.

Specifically Designed Equipment

What riders who like the rotational technique, either the EC style/technique or the PureBoarding style/technique or Low Angle HardBoot BoarderX riders, converted soft boot freeriders, etc. is equipment that is designed specifically for the movements required by that given technique.

New creative designs! A new boot binding interface, designed specifically for the surf/skate inspired technique, is my dream!

Cheers
Rob

Boots designed for EC :D . This is not a spare part, but it's the one thing that we all want but most of us don't have and just can't buy. If a manufacturer could buy the .900 molds from Northwave, and then modify the shell shape a little, focusing on totally minimizing boot overhang... . Yes, this is my dream :angel2:

Well the web presentation ain't one of the best but those guys have been working in plate bindings since 87 and this is the results: http://www.volny.cz/jarinsony/index_sou ... de0001.htm . Sorry for the czech but at least you have some images. The have mainly the step-in version, which works very well, but they can produce also the 'clip' version. Bails diameter 6mm so solid enough not to be broken every second ride.
