PROBLEM :)

Post by nils » Monday 14 November 2005, 21:30

There seems to be a problem with the reservation number we were given by Zinal. It seems they are not taking care of it. We will inquire tomorrow morning and until then: please wait for the good phone number!

Thanks for your patience

Nils

PS: Someone asked if it was possible to get the same lift rates for extra date. Frankly I don't think so, but I will ask tomorrow. We benefit from a group price, and obviously when the ECS is not there it's no more group ;)

Hello Nils.

So these are good news! Finally I will start booking and planning my holidays. But did I get this right, there will be only two official days on this year's ECS? So we will see, which days will see me in Zinal ;)

Best regards

3 full days

Post by fivat » Monday 14 November 2005, 23:23

Like the first ECS in 2004: from Saturday to Monday included.

Extract of the page Events:
Monday Feb 13th is the day not to be missed as there will be no large crowds on the slopes.
On Saturday riders will have the opportunity to be filmed by a professional. A projector will be set up, during dinner, to show the day filming. Dinner and movies will be held at the restaurant (altitude 2500 m). On Sunday evening riders will rendezvous at the pub!

Good news, but will there be a "lift only" price as last year? And how much is included to those 87 € ?

lift only

Post by nils » Tuesday 15 November 2005, 10:33

yes there will be a lift only per day ( each morning at 8.00) so those that are not coming to the cabane for the dinner will be able to pay each morning for the lift. We have yet no clue on how much we will be able to get those lift tickets... it should be a bit more expensive than last year, but still much under the normal price... ( we get group price).

Including in the price for the package is the dinner, lifts, and also small stuff from us, as well as a pro video man that is going to film the event saturday: It will be shown in the evening at the Sorebois cabane.

I'm waiting at this hour for the right reservation number :)
Stay tuned!

Patrice,
do you mean that if we don't go to the dinner, we will pay 30x3=90 euros for 3 ski pass (3 days) ?

8O
It's a gathering! Who would carve all Saturday and eat alone in the village during the evening while all other participants enjoy a dinner at 2500 m and watch the film made during the day? ;-)

130 CHF / 87 Euros for the three days package is an incredible price in Switzerland, since it includes
- resort lift passes
- lift with the cable car to the restaurant on Saturday night (altitude 2500 m)
- evening meal on Saturday (side dish, main dish, dessert and free coffee)
- service of a cameraman who will film during all Saturday (projection in the evening) 8)
- coaching and SWOARD testing
- an Extremecarving DVD and stickers

If someone can come only on Sunday and/or Monday, he will get a small ski pass discount, but we don't know how much for now. Of course the discount is much better for the three days package since we benefit from a group price.

well sorry but...

Post by nils » Tuesday 15 November 2005, 14:06

Prices are not decided by us but by Zinal. Last year they made no money at all, so i guess they decided to raise the price of the lift a little bit... which is still way cheaper than normal!

As stated by Pat, its not really expensive if you consider that a normal day pass is about 30 euros, and that they are opening the lift by night for us etc etc..

You can still climb by foot ;) if you prefer ( or helicopter if you have one..) if you think its a rip off !

Phoned them just now, the phonenumber as stated in the PDFfile is correct (got this from tourist office from Zinal), they are now known with the event. Talked to dearest Stephanie and have made my reservation. I was the first who made a reservation for this event. Told her she will gonna be busy with it.

Greets, Hans.

You're lucky.
Stephanie told me "not before end of week! Please wait ..." :(
