SWOARD ECS 2021 > how to participate + questions

Hello! 8)
The ExtremeCarving Session (ECS) is approaching! :D :birthday: :silly: From Saturday 23 to Monday 25 January 2021 !

COVID-19 > IMPORTANT

Because of the pandemic, we can't make a real event. It will be a true "session" along to the definition given by the surfers: riding the waves together... well... carving the snow together!
Thus there is no dinner, no party, no stand, no photo group. It's forbidden.
Please respect the rules given by the Swiss government from Jan 18, 2021.
No group bigger than 5 persons, indoor and outdoor.
Keep your distance (1.5 m) and wear a mask at the lifts/gondolas.

If you enter Switzerland, check here if there is a quarantine requirement. France, almost all Germany and Italy, are not on the list. But check also the situation for your return in your country (curfew, quarantine).

The preceding years, this event, organized and sponsored by Swoard, has become much more than simple test days of the brand, because we also propose our ride technique which we tirelessly explain and teach by giving our setups, tips, secrets, etc. This is probably unique among all brands. We are passionate riders above all.

Even if the pandemic makes the session as simple as possible this year, the riders progress by watching the others on the same slope! This is the spirit of a "session". 8)

There is room for both hardboots and softboots riders of course. We are one family! :bravo:

Step 1: find an accommodation as soon as possible

 If you have not booked your hotel in Zinal or Grimentz yet (the resorts are connected by a gondola), don't wait anymore! The villages are small. Click here.
IMPORTANT: the restaurants are closed because of the pandemic, but not in the hotels for the guests who have rooms. Thus ask half board when booking.

 On the slopes, you can get food at the "Take Away" of Sorebois.

Step 2: choose your package

 Each extremecarver can benefit from a better price on the skipass by purchasing online a blue package or a red package, but BEFORE the event. In Zinal it will be too late: the skipasses are sold at normal price only.

> BLUE PACKAGE: 138 CHF (Swiss Francs)
Skipass for 3 days (Saturday + Sunday + Monday) + Reserved slope "Le Col" (all mornings)

> RED PACKAGE: 99 CHF (Swiss Francs)
Skipass for 2 days (Saturday + Sunday or Sunday + Monday) + Reserved slope "Le Col" (all mornings)

Step 3: reserve your package online or by phone

 Direct link to the purchase of the packages: BLUE or RED.

 You also can contact the Reservation Center of "Sierre-Anniviers Marketing". It is NOT located in Zinal.
Phone number: +41 (0)27 451 71 10 (Mon-Fri 08:00-12:00 / 13:30-17:30)
E-mail address: info@sierre-anniviers.ch

Step 4: add your name to the list of participants

 Add your name in the other thread with the list of participants to inform the Forum community about your coming, so we can reserve our slope.

Step 5: on the first day, go to the cashier at the main lift

 After the online purchase of your package, you will have received a voucher. Show it (and/or give your name) to the cashier at the main lift in Zinal.
If you plan to take the gondola in Grimentz, ask the person there to call Zinal for confirmation.

Any question related to this session?

All questions can be asked in this thread below! Thank you! 8)

Good news! The prices of the packages in Swiss Francs (CHF) are still very attractive. This year they include only the skipasses (and the reserved slope) but you win up to 15% on the price.

The normal price of the skipass at Zinal-Grimentz is 64 CHF per day.
For 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 consecutive days, the normal price is 110 / 162 / 213 / 259 / 295 CHF.

Frequent questions:

(1) Will it be possible to borrow a DEMO board, even if there is no stand?

Yes, directly from one person of the team, and with respect of the rules related to the Covid-19 (distance, masks, max. 5 persons).

Please book your board at ECS2021@swoard.com
BEFORE the session, write us the day (Saturday or Sunday), the model (Gen5, Pro2, Dual2), size and flex which you would like to test. See the charts below.
We will reply by e-mail and will give you a private appointment at 10:30-11:00. Please bring your ID card. The demo board must be given back at 14:00-14:30.

(2) Will it be possible to buy some DEMO boards?

No, the demo boards are in good state and we will keep them for next winter.

(3) Will it be possible to purchase some NEW boards during the ECS?

Not during this session. Anyway we deliver worldwide. We ship from France (though Swoard is a Swiss company) at good price, and there is no custom tax in EU.

(4) Will it be possible to test the new Swoard-UPZ EC12 hardboots?

As there is no stand this year, we won't show any pair.

(5) Will it be possible to take lessons during this session?

Despite the pandemic, we can give tips on the slopes and share our experiences. Try to catch a Swoard team rider on the snow. If some groups are formed, they must not exceed 5 persons, in accordance to the measures against the Covid-19. When talking, a mask is mandatory.
