Replacement screws for UPZ RC10
Hi all,
Once again I have lost a screw from my UPZ boots - this time, one of those holding the tongue. Does anyone know an easy way to get replacements in Switzerland? None of the rental shops around where I live have anything similar.
Do others have this problem, do I need to use Loctite or something like this?
cheers,
Slayer.

Re: Replacement screws for UPZ RC10
You may replace them with standard screws from hardware store, they dont need to be rorx ones.

Hi Colin,
I had the same problems and solved it with Loctite: = highly recommended.
Original replacement screw you will get from Carvers Paradise in Germany.
But maybe a non original will do it too.

I have replaced some original torx ones with std hex slot so i can tighten then more easily when needed. I use medium Loctite for some screws.
Re: Replacement screws for UPZ RC10
Thanks for all the replies, good to know standard screws will work. I didn't think they would due to maybe having a custom length.
I had a snow day organised by my workplace, and as it was a non-critical screw, I rode anyway...I noticed my forward flex was better because the tongue was able to move forward a bit as I flexed. I already barely use the first three buckles on the boots. At this rate, my boots will be attached with one buckle!

Hi Hans,
Thanks for that link. I contacted the Swiss contact (wind and snow) for the part. Their website lists it as 3CHF, so not worth the bus fare to the local Bau und Hobby to get an equivalent Unfortunately currently out of stock. Sent an email to see if they can get it soon.
cheers,
Colin.
