:birthday: :birthday: Wow! We got ideal EC conditions for the 15 years anniversary of the ExtremeCarving Session and Swoard! :birthday: :birthday:
Wonderful weather, especially on Sunday, and a great festive spirit. :D For the first time, some riders came from... China! :bravo: The pistes have withstood the onslaughts of the participants, about 135 riders!

The Session was marked by the announcement of the results of the 2nd Swoard Film Contest. The list of winners is in this topic. The movies are also available on the YouTube channel here.

Of course the dinner on Saturday ended with a birthday cake! :birthday:

It was a great session.

Seems that you guys not only master the technique but also the weather. Although you should have made it a bit colder :)

Can't wait to see the pictures/movie(s).

Thnx again to Patrice, but again to all the help received by the volunteers and team members. Was great also to meet new people, the Chinese gang, and the young carving generation ( Louis and Nils..) !
I'll be there hopefully before the 20th anniversary, my kids got hooked and in two weeks they are going back on the snowboards!
The level has been a big step up since the 10th anniversary!! Congrats to all the dedicated riders pushing things to the limit!

I'll post some of the pics I took, as well as a selection of the other pics on the Instagram channel: https://www.instagram.com/extremecarving/
So feel free to visit, subscribe and repost to spread the news about alpine carving everywhere :)

I also want to say: the event was absolutely awesome - perfect slopes, perfect weather, perfect mood - as if it were ordered for the 15th session. This was my first time in Zinal and I didn't imagine it would be such a joy!

Many thanks to the Swoard-Team, hope to see you soon again!

Matti broke his clavicle on Tuesday after the event... :? A silly fall.
Fortunately there was no surgery and he will recover in 4-6 weeks.

@Matti: receive all our thoughts for a good recovery and a quick return on the snow this winter.

Many thanks to everybody for all your words above! :bravo:
I'm motivated to continue till 50th ExtremeCarving Session!

I was riding from the Durant lift to Barthélémy doing push&pull backside turn when rear foot boot came off and I felt down.
I was closed my binding carelessly when there were snow between the heel of the boot and the binding.

See you soon in Koli ECE 2018!

I got the same issue on the slope "Corne" at the beginning of the run. I was lucky to be able to stop without damage ;)

Benoit, are you using F2 bindings standard or Intec? Such problems happen more often with Intec.
But even with standard bindings, sometimes the heel may be not engaged in the bail though one ears the "clac" of the lever. Thus I always double check.
