Extremecarver Gen4 question

Hi,
I am a beginner at EC (been on a Dual for one season) and my weight varies between 86-89kg. I am just under 5 ft 10 in. My feet size is 29-30 mondo (not been fitted for hard boots yet so not exactly sure). I am looking for a EC Gen4 - I guess due to feet size, I should go for the 175, but should it be M or H?

Thanks Arnaud. Can I ask what boots you use? Choices around these days seem to be Deeluxe (Track 700?) or UPZ (RC10). I looked at the gear pages for boots, but I couldn't see a comparison between these two.

Slayer, you have to check if the Deeluxe or UPZ fits although the size is the same. I found the Deeluxe narrower and my feet hurt after just a few minutes. Try both.

That's good information. Going off-topic for this thread, but I feel there isn't a lot of info around current boot tech on this site, Or maybe there is, but in distributed posts and not stickies. Perhaps it's because hardbooters hang on to the same boots for centuries (so once you are 'in', you forget about the hassle it took to get good boots), while softbooters are 'encouraged' to change boots every few years. Those clever Burton marketeers...

I will have another look at the threads to find the places to go where they will stick with you until you get the boots right, springs or not for beginner, etc.

Choosing hardboots is easy.
If you want to buy new ones you can choose between DeeLuxe, UPZ and ---- nothing else.
Which ones? Depends on which brand fits your foot better.
Model: you like it stiff - you can choose between Track 700 and RC10
Really soft is Track 225. In the middle is Track 325 and RC8
No experience till now with Track 425 (Pro) and Free69
Springs? - always recommended.

Easy isn´t it?
Between how many softboots would I have to choose?

There is still also the Head Stratos Pro, though not as easily available I guess. Not sure you can attach springs without modification, though.
Do they all have the same size shell? I would prefer the smaller external size, having large feet (narrow at ankles, wider at the toes).
As to flex - have no idea yet!

PS.yes with softboots you have far more choice, but you wont be coming back to the shop for modifications! Anyone with any tips on the best shops for fitting around the Zürich region?
